PURE HOCKEY CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#14 Casey Pickett, NORTHEASTERN
(Junior Forward; Wilmington, Mass.)
Pickett potted both goals in Northeastern's 2-1 victory over Union on Friday, and assisted Kendall Coyne's tally in the Huskies' 3-1 triumph over Quinnipiac.
PURE HOCKEY CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#9 Taylor Wasylk, BOSTON COLLEGE
(Sophomore Forward; Port Huron, Mich.)
Wasylk registered three points (1g,2a) in a 5-0 win over New Hampshire on Saturday with five shots on goal and a +1 plus/minus rating. The forward's power play goal two minutes into the second period of proved to be the game-winner.
PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
#8 Kayla Tutino, BOSTON UNIVERSITY
(Freshman Forward; Lorraine, Quebec)
Tutino notched her first career hat-trick, including a shorthanded goal, to help guide BU to a 6-2 win over Union on Saturday. She recorded six shots on goal and a +2 rating the the victory for the Terriers.
WHEA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#33 Jenn Gilligan, NEW HAMPSHIRE
(Freshman Goaltender; Maple Ridge, B.C.)
Gilligan recorded a season-high 24 saves (.960 save%) to backbone UNH to a 1-1 tie against fifth-ranked BC last Friday at the Whittemore Center. Stopped all three shots in OT and held the Eagles scoreless on four power-play opportunities, including one in the extra session.
WHEA TEAM OF THE WEEK
BOSTON COLLEGE EAGLES
The Eagles opened league play undeafeated with a tie (1-1) and a win (5-0) over the weekend against New Hampshire. BC's penalty kill was a perfect 6-for-6 in the two-game set. The Eagles outshot UNH, 35-16, in game two on Saturday at Conte Forum.
