Ian White signs in Detroit, 2 years, 2.875 per.

Hell, he took a pay cut. Makes up for the Ericsson signing.

Vokoun signs in Washington for one year at 1.5 million.

          Philly curses Vokoun's agent.

Not really. Holtby is better off in the AHL getting playing time. Neuvirth gets to study, play some behind a premium goaltender and learn what it is to be a #1 goaltender. And it is short money and short term.

1.5 mill isn't a really a premium goaltender... I didn't realize they got rid of varlamov... I'll also admit to not watching a ton of games. It seems like every year they're trying to figure it out in net.

Nashville just made a terrible deal.

Franson and Lombardi to Toronto for Lebda and Slaney.

Losing Lomardi is no big deal, as they played without him all last year and that wasn't a very smart signing to begin with. But Franson is a major loss. He offered protection in case they lose Suter next year. Yes, they still have Ellis and Blum, but that's a major loss.

We all know Ledba sucks, and who the eff is Robert Slaney?

Clearing cap space? Lombardi's 3.5 million for two more years, while Lebda/ECHL guy is 1.4 for one more year.

It was a salary dump, not so much to get beloe the Cap, but to stay within the organizations internal budget.

Actually, as of right now, Nashville has the lowest salary commitment of any team for next season. They have a lot of work to do to get to the cap floor. Expect to see Weber's deal get announced any day, and it will probably be in the 6.5-7.5M range. Getting to see him play live 25x a year, I can tell you he's worth every penny.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nashville pulls a surprise and signs Suter while they're at it.

Ah. Lombardi couldn't get insurance because of his concussion during the lockout. Therefore, even on IR, Nashville was stuck paying him. That makes it a dumbass signing last year that cost them a D-man.

Ah, yes, now the Preds' trade makes sense. They just signed Nicolas Bergfors for a year at 575K.
