He is better suited to the pro atmosphere. Good luck Tim.

Nice article (including video) on incoming recruit Barrett Kaib, regarding his chances on being drafted in this weekend's NHL draft. He may have a chance...

Regarding Friars possible chances on being selected this year, the name I have seen most (including a few mock drafts) is Craig Wyszomirski. Wyszomirski could go mid-to-late rounds. Have also seen Noel Acciari name in a "players who could get a look" piece. Would be nice to have a team with some NHL draft picks (ie, more talent) again. Hard to believe there are only two current players - Adams & Velischek who are NHL draft picks.

Like I said months ago both Tim and Rick Patino have something in common, one can't coach pros and one can't coach college

With all due respect, that was all US natl team hype and he was never going to be drafted. They push their players, even the 3rd and 4th line types for them. Neither of the 2 incoming freshmen for PC this year were considered legit draft picks. Would have been nice for the program but way to much talent out there. Central scouting is not a legit source anymore. As you might have noticed, almost every natl kid was on it and many got left out and rightly so. It is startling how many kids on their lists dont get drafted.

Thought Kaib might have an outside shot at getting drafted - but wasn't to surprised that he wasn't. Was more surprised that Wyszomirski wasn't picked. But if they play well next year at PC they can always get drafted as "overagers' in next years draft. Believe Rheault was picked as an overager, and maybe Wild too.

He is another video interview with Kaib from last week. He talks about how much he is looking forward to coming to school next year.

And if they stay free agents they can pick a spot they fit and have a better chance of sticking a little longer

In other words every single player is in that position iof not drafted. They give draft picks every chance to succeed and will work with them for several years. Undrafte players are a dime a dozen and have a huge uphill climb. Remember, the same teams who might sign a fee agent are the ones who said no when given the chance to draft you.

If you sign as a free agennt you most likely fill a spot of some need at the time of signing rather than an possible talent 4 years out so yes you will have a better shot at making the teams American League team vice the lower farm team.....the rest rides with how bad you want it and how much talent you have

Hope he can make the big club out of training camp. He seemed stuck in the Oilers system, even with putting up some good numbers in the AHL. He got called up in 2009-2010 for a cup of coffee, where he scored a goal in his second game. Speaking of stuck, Jon DiSalvatore puts up big points every year and never gets called up, I hope his time comes soon, as every year there are more young players coming in.

Also speaking of ex-Friars and the NHL, looking to see if Pisani re-signs with Chicago or another team. Hope he can stay in the league.

                                Your link sir:

Kind of a circular thing. PC hires Leaman, Berard loses his poition, but Bennett gets Leaman's job. Because Leaman takes Barr to PC and to replace Bennett Union needs assistants. One of them goes to UCONN assistant Joe Dumais, creating an opportunity for UCONN to hire a new assistant. Now Berard gets the job. Well good luck to him.
