The former NHL guy in question has been generous to BU. If the legacy recruit chooses to follow him, there won't be a problem.

Jakob Forsacka-Karlsson was on The Pipeline Show today. Missed the last 12 games with a concussion.

Two goals and an assist for Clayton Keller (2016) and helpers for Greenway and McAvoy in Team USA's 6-4 win against Sweden at the World U18s. His second goal on a backhander--very slick.

they also take the position that if he is worth recruiting than he deserves a scholarship. they dont pay so team can use the money to bring in more competition. they are parents first and foremost. if you think they are going to be full payers and others getting scholarships you are dillusional

Never suggested the player in question would come without a scholarship. If he picks BU, there's a slot for him.

Another goal for Clayton Keller at the World U18s. Second goal in USA win over Czechs.

Too bad we lost out on Tkachuk. Seems like he is developing into a really good player. Last time we lost to London, the player ended up going #12 overall...

Now let's just make sure we get that other "son of a former BU player".

Hockeysfuture.com on 2016 recruit John McDermott:

                  106. John McDermott, Center, Westminster (USHS)
                  6’0″, 174 pounds, Darien, CT

He may not be on your radar, but I can assure you that John McDermott is in the sights of NHL scouts. McDermott is a gifted athlete, and was one of the youngest players at his prep school. He is regarded as an elite-level skater who drives possession for his team, one trait coaches gravitate towards.

He has a ton of potential, and has been trending positively as the season went along. He announced his commitment to Boston University for the 2016-17 season. As a player who has been difficult to contain, it may be difficult for NHL teams to resist adding him to their prospect pool in June.

Less than a week after older brother Matthew Tkachuk chose to sign with OHL London over college hockey, younger brother Brady Tkachuk, a left-shot forward, has committed to BU, most likely for 2017. A product of the Jr. Blues system, like 2016 recruit Clayton Keller, Brady scored 15 goals and 28 assists for the Jr. Blues 16U team in the Tier 1 Elite league. Next season he'll be in Ann Arbor with the NTDP U17s, joining another BU 2017 recruit, highly-regarded Syracuse Stars defenseman David Farrance. More on tomorrow's blog post.

Birthdate is 9-16-99, so he misses being eligible for the 2017 NHL draft by one day. Like Jack Eichel, he'll play his freshman year before being drafted.

Wasn't his brother committed to Notre Dame before reneging and going Major Junior? How good do we feel about this commitment?

I'd heard about a year ago that the younger Tkachuk has always planned on the NCAA route and wanted to follow his dad to BU.

Hockey Prospects scout Russ Bitely tweeted: Was told other day Tkachuk bros. are different where one would go OHL & other NCAA route. Days after Matthew '97 heads north Brady '99 to BU.

                        Over The Boards tweeted:
-99 F Brady Tkachuk (STL U16) commits to BU. Big get. NTDP-bound son of Keith Tkachuk, huge upside. Skilled, assertive. Our #9 uncommitted.
-Tkachuk had a lot of interest from Big Ten, NCHC + other heavyweights in Hockey East. Was a 4th rd pick by London OHL, brother signed there

The season ends with a Clark Cup championship for 2016 recruit Kieffer Bellows, who scored the game-winning goal (short-handed & unassisted) as Sioux Falls beat Muskegon, 4-2, to sweep the best-of-five series. Bellows scored 9 goals in 12 playoff games, including six goals in the last four games and the game-winner in two of the Stampede’s series-clinching games. During the regular season, he scored 33 goals, most ever for a 16 year old since the USHL became a Tier 1 league. After a slow start with four goals in 19 games, the league’s hottest goal-scorer rang up 29 in the next 39 regular season games. The Stampede’s youngest player, he finished two behind league co-leader and 2015 BU recruit Robert Carpenter, who had 35.

Going to be very interesting to see how Quinn manages a team with so many Chiefs and perhaps not enough Indians.

Draft profile of Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson, whom Central Scouting ranked #31 among N.American skaters, movin up from #39 in the midterms. Apparently the reviewer was unable to determine whether JFK will be a "Chief" or an "Indian."

BU adds goalie Max Prawdzik for next season. 6-3 netminder from Andover, Mass., led the Brooks School to the 2014-15 New England Prep Large School championship with a gaudy 1.25 GAA and .944 save percentage, with 8 shutouts in his team's 21 games. First team All New England and ISL league MVP. In 2012, he was selected to attend the USA Hockey Strelow National Goaltending Camp

Also played last fall for the Neponset Valley River Rats 18Us, where he was a teammate of 2017 recruit Patrick Harper.
