I have a ticket for the Hershey Bears' game against Springfield on March 4. If, by some chance, Allen York is in net for the Falcons that night, I want him to make 50 saves and be named the first star of the game, and the Bears to win, 1-0, on a fluke deflection. If somebody else plays for Springfield, I want the Bears to score a dozen goals so that I can yell "Yorkie would've had it" after every one.
Exactly my point. BTW, Daren Puppa also played for the Sabres.

So he did. How could I forget?

Especially when that team was Boston when they were skating with Cam Neely before Sinden traded Joey for a chain smoking gimp with a big slapshot! Someone mentioned the NEHJ on the regular page. Mean to post this earlier but that jogged my memory. That Juneau for Iafrate trade was rated the 5th worst in Bruin's history and the headline blurb for it was No Way Joey!

The Caps gig was OK too.

Thanks for the reminder-at the time I could not believe they made that trade. From what I had been told-Sinden was still fuming about the entire signing episode with Joey-not wanting to give him the money he asked for-and then after Joey had a wonderful stint with team Canada outscoring Lindros (in points, not goals) had to bow a bit to public pressure.

Allen York in goal for CBJ's replacing Mason late in the 2nd.
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

Ended up with 24:30 of playing time, giving up 2 goals on 8 shots in Columbus' 6-1 loss to Chicago. Incidentally, the Blackhawks are the team against which Yorkie made his first NHL start.

probabley should've had the 1st goal but the 2nd banked off his D-man's back...nothing he really could've done with that one. The announcers pointed out that this was Yorkies first game action, at any level, since Jan.11...yeesh.

Tyler Helfrich scored his 12th goal plus 1a & was #3 star in 4-3 loss. The interesting stat from the game was that Bakersfield scored their 1st goal (Helfrich) with less than 3 min. left in the game then scored 2 goals in the final minute with the goalie pulled..http://bakersfieldcondors.com/news/l...4-3-to-alaska/ with the 2points TH now leads Bakersfield in scoring http://bakersfieldcondors.com/team-stats/

Now-doesn't it seem a bit strange that these two boys can score like this at this level, and that they were not as productive in the RPI system? Not sure what this all means-but i have always felt that both of them had great talent and just never had the chance to show it in Troy.

Probably because the competition we play traps and tries to win the league (and not the national championship). If I remember well, these two really showed their stuff in the non-conference play where we face competition that they'll face at these levels, but didn't do all too well in league play.

Darn, Pirri's back in the AHL... would have been interesting if Pirri got one of the goals vs. York.

I always felt that Helfrich just never got untracked at RPI-mostly due to injuries. I just never felt he looked comfortable. He had the potential for sure. I think we have a few boys like that on the current team-something is just not clicking for them. I think that we may seem a couple of them in the pro levels surprise some people.
