Allen York assigned to Springfield as CBJ's activate Curtis Sanford. It was nice having him on an NHL roster but in the long run he, all goalies, need that everyday work for his game to progress....http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/news...id=DL|CBJ|home
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

Turk-of all our boys in the pros-York has the best chance of being called back up to the NHL and eventually sticking. He has the right situation-a losing parent club that needs his talent at goaltending. Yes there is competition and he is not the top of the depth chart. But they keep losing and they will keep looking for an answer especially in goal.

Agreed Doc. On another front, just got back from the Marlies/Devils game....Jerry D'Amigo with the OT assist that breaks Kadri for the game winner...here's the pass & goal (on Kinkaid)....http://video.mapleleafs.nhl.com/vide...=802&id=134839....Jerry had a real solid game. Seemed every time he hit the ice he either came up w/a loose puck...stole the puck...blocked a shot. The kind of game where when the coach watches the tape he points his finger and says, that's the way to play this game....of course a goal or two would've been nice

Turk-i think you know I have voiced my feelings before about D'Amigo and Pirri. Both have a lot of talent-I never felt they would stay for the full 4 years but I was convinced they would have benefitted more by at least completing 2-3 years of NCAA level hockey and then gone pro. They obviously needed more experience and if things do not work out for them they would at least be closer to obtaining a degree that could stand them in good stead for their future outside of hockey. I wish them the best but just not sure what there upside is at that level.

Tough call Doc. Some people are just not interested in school. I don't know if Jerry & Brandon are or aren't. I guess only time will tell if it was the right/wrong decision.

Turk-of course that is the issue. But if they were not interested in school-why come to RPI at all? They had the option to go elsewhere. I am sure the money offerred was the tipping point but I just do not think that it was a number that meant lifelong security. I felt a little bit like this when Cavosie left but at least he had finished 3 years of school work and was close to a degree. Brad Tapper was a different story as he was offerred a sum of money that made a secure life for himself and his family-and he also had finished 3 years of degree work. There are a number of boys who have left the NCAA after 1 year and it has worked out for them-but that has been the rare situation. And even in most of those cases, they left schools not as high on the academic scale and perhaps were not serious about their education to begin with as you mentioned.

Brilliantly said Doc. Couldn't agree more with each part of this. Should be required reading for anyone thinking about making the jump early.

Allen York did not play in Springfield's game Wednesday against Worcester, so there's probably a pretty good chance that he will play tonight against Providence.

If Kirk MacDonald goes in alone on a breakaway, whom do we root for?

who did you root for when J'DA went against York in the SO last year? I know, different scenario. Maybe a highlight move by Mac & an unbelievable save by York, seen on every highlight show the next day.
