Re: RPI Pros IV
Most NHL teams give goalies a much longer period of time to fine tune their game for the NHL game. I think York still has plenty of time to prove he belongs. But as EJF has noted several times-he sure needs to get some game experience somewhere. Columbus is a notoriously poorly run organization. This is why i suspect we might see York sent off somewhere else. Atlanta was like back when Brad Tapper chose them. They had their own ideas of what would work-and none of it did despite some very decent talent. I got to understand how some of this works during that period of time. The talent level when you look at the players who do make it up to the NHL is very consistent-of course excepting those with special talents who just are the superstars. Many decison are made with a checkbook and between lawyers instead of by performance on the ice. Players sometimes are not given the chance despite showing that they are a positive bonus for a team. I sincerely hope that York does start to get his shot-but would not be at all surprised if it takes several more years and is in a totally different location. He may just have to be patient.
