Oh God please let Maine play in Bridgeport.

Also, Priceless, where do you get your numbers? I go to SiouxSports.com but I'd really like to avoid giving them my service if possible.
Me: ...but why would anyone want to vacation here? There are better mountains in NH and VT, beaches in Cape Cod and RI, and colonial landmarks in Mass and CT.

Boss: You've got it all wrong. It's Vacationland because nobody would ever want to live here for more than a week.

rpihockey.net also does a PWR calculation.

          Slack.net

Joe S' site. It's great because you can see how future games will impact the PWR, see what impact different results would have had and see what the PWR were on a certain date.

Seriously, it's nice being again in a situation where games between teams that we don't play greatly affect us. That was the case, even at the end of the year, each year around a decade ago. Since then RPI hasn't been close. Now if we can sweep Yale like last season, ...

I'm a little surprised that Dartmouth wasn't placed in the Manchester regional. However, this is a pleasant surprise for the RPI fans.

To avoid intra-conference games, the AHA Champ (#16 seed) plays the fourth #1 seed. The overall #1 seed draws #14 Maine.

BU just beat Vermont to knock Colorado College out. Welcome also to Merrimack, Western Michigan and Union.

A first look at the field:

                          Code:
Bridgeport Manchester St Louis	Green Bay
                          Yale BC Minn-Duluth	North Dakota
                          Notre Dame Denver UNH Michigan
                          Wisconsin Merrimack RPI Neb-Omaha
AHA Champ Western Mich Union BU
UNH is a host, so they must be moved to Manchester. This starts the dominoes falling. The first round games for the top seeds stays the same, but all the 2/3 games are changed for attendance/travel purposes.

                          Code:

                          Merrimack RPI Neb-Omaha Wisconsin
AHA Champ Western Mich Union BU
                          Conference breakdown:
                          WCHA - 5
                          Hockey East - 4
                          CCHA - 3
                          ECAC - 3

That should make those complainers on the "ez" threads happy. After all, Yale did get their only loss from the AHA.

based on history of being as conservative as possible, i just cant see the NCAA moving that many teams around within the 3 seed band - and specifically moving Wisconsin to the green bay regional like that. above all, that would not be fair to the #1 seed (in this case nodak) to create a basic home game for the badgers. The NCAA does a lot of tinkering for attendance and $$ but they have always seemed to keep 'protecting the 1 seeds' as their primary objective.

of course if you run the bracketology as of 1/14, i have Denver as the #2 seed for GB and thus Wisconsin couldnt be moved there.
