The times I've been to Cortland, Oz has put up at least 5 and shut out the Red Dragons. I did a game once where Oswego got 8 or 9 goals and I got to call them all while my broadcast partner got none.
Well, I'm going to do a farewell tour of upstate New York, hellholes like Plattsburgh. Fred Armisen as Gov. Paterson

In the late 80's I attended some Hockey games at Cortland. The fans used to bring all of their kitchen pots and pans to the game as noise makers. They would sit behind or near the opposing teams penalty box and harass the offender for the duration of his stay in the box. Rarely would the players be able to ignore the foolish jargon/noise and the result was mud slinging back and forth that was quite heated/amusing. Couple that with a lot of foolish drunken behavior and the game/side shows were quite entertaining. Simply a fond memory of some good times.
that actually sounds like alot of fun, i doubt they'd let you do anything like that now-a-days though.
The past 4 times Oswego ended up the regular season #1 in the SUNYACs....they have 1 SUNYAC title to show for it...including losing 3 times in the SUNYAC Semi finals....
Plattsburgh has finished 3rd or worse in the past 8 years 3 times and still made the SUNYAC finals...
Plattsburgh has had the same amount of SUNYAC titles in non 1st place regular seasons then Oswego has in 1st place regular season - no SUNYAC title seasons....I'd worry more about Oswego tanking it in the playoffs then where Plattsburgh is in the standings right now.
This reminds of the old days - except instead of RIT and Elmira, every thread revolves around Oswego and Plattsburgh, regardless of the actual topic

But we try to keep our banter to threads where our banter is relevant, unlike the Oswego and Plattsburgh guys

maybe we should just make an Oswego vs. Plattsburgh thread and go back and forth in there, instead of taking over other threads, even though we've probably doubled the number of posts in the cortland thread
While I do agree that whenever anyone plays Plattsurgh, they do bring their "A game", it also appears that when Oswego plays teams they consider a push-over, they leave their "A game" in the locker room
Yet somehow the Lakers are 58-3-4 against teams not named Plattsburgh in conference play over the last 5 years. Not bad for never bringing their "A" game.
It's funny how Cortland beats Platty in Platty and the talk is Cortland's goalie was hot, and how well the Cardinals played in losing. After all, the Cardinals heavily outshot the Dragons. Then when Oswego goes on the road, against the same hot goaltender, outshoots the Dragons badly, and wins the game, talk is the Lakers overlooked their opponent and did not bring their best.

EXCEPT, the comment on leaving their A-game in the locker room was made on: 12-19-2010 02:42 PM - long before they played "against the same hot goaltender" in Cortland.

Temper is one thing you can't get rid of by losing it.
God gave everyone patience-The wise use it.
Trust is like paper - Once crumbled it can never again be perfect.
But most importantly, Oswego wishes they could have done as well against Hobart as Cortland did.
Ok Norm, I'm a little late on catching up with your Oswego digs (like the one above). I wouldnt even had noticed it had madison not perpetuated the myth the Lakers dont bring their "A" game against so-called pushovers. In that vein, here is the dig right back at you. Most importantly, Plattsburgh wishes they could have done as well against Cortland as Hobart did
