  • Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

Tryouts are now underway, and scrimmages begin in the latter half of the week.

In the meantime, here's a neat story on Jessica Aney, an 8th grade hockey player at Rochester Century who also just happened to win the Class AA Minnesota State Tennis Championship.

Anyone else experiencing frustrating, extremely slow navigation of the Strib HockeyHub website?

Section 4AA looks loaded yet again with three SEC teams rated 4, 6 and 7 and the defending section champions (with their best player returning) rated number 5.

I haven't had any unusual problems but that site has always seemed slow to me.

I'm having better luck finding rosters on the MSHSL site than the Strib HockeyHub. Select team from drop down menu at upper right if you're interested in searching for a 2011-2012 roster. Some are up...some are not.

Nice night for Hill Murray over Minnetonka - no surprise future Gopher Hannah Brandt had 4 G. The bigger surprise is HM outshot Tonka 37-19. Hill has another big test coming up with Stillwater.

Those rankings likely don't include results like Hill beating 'Tonka.

That was the consensus in the high school forum. I think HM is probably better than their current rank. I'd also question Stillwater in the absence of testing by other upper tier metro area teams. Also some results in class A that make those rankings questionable.

In some games individual players are reportedly being credited for more goals than their whole team is scoring, leading to inflated stats. Hopefully they can work out the kinks so that what's being shown on the site is as accurate as it can be.

Hill Murray getting their due respect as I thought they deserved...since the previous poll. I'll have to get myself to the Roseville / Stillwater SEC game(s) to see the Mighty Raiders. I'd also like to see a Roseville / Hill NC tussle. Could happen only if Roseville plays in the Kaposia this holiday season. I'm sure those brackets are available somewhere. One set back vs. Breck for the Pioneers thus far...with a game against the top ranked A squad Warroad coming up.
