Bumping up the section brackets:

Both Breck and Red Wing are in the State Tournament in 1A. Eagan is in in 2A. We know either Hill Murray or Roseville will represent section 4AA.
Definitely worth a trip to the X for some great hockey and a glimpse of the future for GWH.

Flexing those incredibly well developed skills of perspicacity again DS? Find someone willing to read the forum and explain the meanings and subtle innuendo that you completely miss for going right over you (sic) head. I don't feel any need to excuse behavior that never happened.
Do you still blame your mommy for all your many character flaws, stunted maturity development and general loser disposition? Gotta be sombody elses fault right?

In other section final action, Minnetonka returns to state with a 2-1 OT win over Benilde;
as does the team the Skippers defeated for the title last season, Edina, a 4-0 winner over Chaska/Chanhassen;
Other winners include Moundsview and Rousea in AA, and SSP, Detroit Lakes, and Chisago Lakes in single A per this story.

Thoughts on seeding for the AA State Tournament?
1AA Lakeville North
2AA Edina
3AA Eagan
4AA Roseville
5AA Mounds View
6AA Minnetonka
7AA Grand Rapids/Greenway
8AA Roseau
'Tonka, Roseville and Edina would grab #1 thru #3 I would guess...#4...I dunno.
...and 1A:
1A Red Wing
2A Hutchinson
3A New Ulm
4A South St. Paul
5A Breck
6A Detroit Lakes
7A Chisago Lakes
8A Warroad
I'd think Breck a pretty clear #1

Personally, I think my Chisago Lakes girls got hosed twice. One time from the seeding (deserve #4) and one time from the random draw.
Second straight appearance where the Wildcats draw the #1 seed in the quarters. Two years ago it was Warroad. This year it's Breck. Oh, well. Can anyone recite the Herb Brooks speech from the movie "Miracle" before the game?
Best of luck to all teams. Will be there cheering for honor of the old green and gold.
Once a lower-ranked team doesn't get the #4 seed in the A bracket, it is in trouble in the random draw. Three out of four options are bad. You got #1 Breck. Warroad, the #2 seed, has already defeated Detroit Lakes 13-1. SSP, the #3, is up 6-0 early in the second. Only #4 Red Wing is likely beatable, and then you are stuck in the winners bracket with the other three. A team is better off losing on Day 1 and trying to win the consolation. At least that way, your season ends with two wins. I realize that no competitive kid thinks like that.

With these quarterfinal game blowouts, plus the shrinkage in the number of teams, I think Class A needs to either realign the sections or they need to go to a four team tournament field. It's painfully obvious that the quality of teams like New Ulm and Detroit Lakes just isn't there - makes for very boring mismatches.
