So the lowest GPA among the 5 is 3.77, it looks like a couple of them will be valedictorians, one sings the National Anthem before home games (a Stillwater player does the same, are there more out there?), and a couple of them want to be doctors. And people wonder why we're fans of girls/women's hockey.....

I notice in the player bios that they have Miss Bonapace-Potvin headed to North Dakota (UND). Could this be a typo since she was supposedly committed to UMD?

Ok, well that settles the "oh, what will they do with all the goalies in Duluth? conundrum. I'll update "the List"

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey III

Since USHSHO seems to have gone belly up (or maybe didn't renew their domain in time and hopefully will be back..)

Duluth knocked off CEC 2-1 tonight...2-0 well into the third when Courtney Esse finally got CEC on the board with 5 minutes left.

The Lumberjacks were without Jessie Ryan who injured an elbow in Bemidji in the final game of the regular season. At times, both teams struggled to get the puck out of their own zone once the offense got it in, but without Ryan the Jacks had more of those problems. Both CEC goaltenders got time in what turned out to be the final games of their high school careers.

Paige Turner played well for Duluth whether getting faceoffs by directing shots over the glass into the netting, or by covering the puck.

Duluth gets Elk River on Saturday at noon...until this season the section semi-finals were a doubleheader on Saturday but I guess that was changed for Elk River? They don't do high seed site for the boys, or section 7A so it's hard to know exactly why they are doing it this way.

Got a few hours of picture editing to do.. but will post a link here sometime in the middle of the night I guess

First of all you can drop the PC lingo. This is Minnesota and she's a defenseman. She won't be a 'defensewoman' until she reaches the East Coast.

Actually, the unfortunate term they like to use is "defender." It ain;t frikken soccer sports information people.

                              Section 4AA

Stillwater defeated NSP 6-2 to continue their hunt for thier 3rd State Championship in 4 years. They should face Roseville in a huge game next Tuesday (they have split this season STW 5-2 and Roseville 4-2 both winning at home)

With Harvard goaltender Christina Kessler's torn ACL, Duluth Northern Star grad Laura Bellamy has stepped up and gone 7-2 since becoming Harvard's #1 goaltender, with both losses (including Friday night) being to RPI. She had a loss in her first start, against Quinnipiac 1-0 also. She's stopping 94% and has a GAA of 1.26. Not bad for a goaltender who didn't even get to play in the game that ended her high school career.
