On Saturday, the Boston Bandits (NCDC) defeated the Connecticut Junior Rangers 5-4 in overtime. Jack Brackett scored the GWG on a penalty shot early in OT.

This is from a follower of the Chicago Steel........... I'll stop saying this sometime, not yet though, but still say Gunnarwolfe Fontaine drafted in rd 11 will be the better Steel than his linemates at Lawrence Academy Neil Shea (rd 2) and Sam Colangelo (rd 2), Colangelo is playing with his homies back in MN this yr. Posted this after June Camp and he reinforces it each time I see him play since. Pesky sort, motor never stops and the release and awareness he showed, read the play jumping on the loose puck in stride and dragged the thing a tad to change the angle of the shot, on his bar down lazer blast shows some offensive upside to go along with all the intangibles he brings. Fun/valuable player.

The Chicago Steel’s box score is not up. https://www.ushl.com/view#/game-summary/8651 Chicago lost 6-2. Fontaine played. Sarlo did not. I listened to the third period and Fontaine had no points in that time. The goals were tweeted and he did not score, but I do not know about assists and penalties. I will post a summary on Sunday if the box score is posted, otherwise, since it is an exhibition game, it does not count.

I will post the Spruce Grove summary in the AM. Cory Babichuk did not dress. That doesn't concern me.

I am concerned about Sarlo and to a lesser degree Herrman about their status in the USHL. Neither is on the injured list, but they wouldn't be put on if the injuries are of short duration. Herrman is a known quantity to Green bay, so that could be the reason that he has not been playing. OTOH if Sarlo is on the bubble, I would have expected him to have played more. He is still on the roster.

We'll see soon what cuts are made.
