Agreed of course. My preference for tall defensive players is based on a number of factors. But one of the most obvious for me is that when you measure the distance from finger tips to finger tips with your arms outstretched to your sides, in the vast majority of people (and there are of course exceptions including notably some medical anomalies), that distance is within an inch of your height. i have often mentioned that you cannot teach size. But just as important, you cannot really teach reach, which I consider a vital factor for a defenseman. There are a myriad of other facts to consider but having an inadequate wing span just makes playing defense that much more difficult.
Take the shortest distance to the puck and arrive in ill humor

The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone records their Star ratings as public because they tweet them with committals.

You know, I just noticed something wildly ironic, now also seeing our newest recruit is also American... Wasn't our former coach big on USA Hockey, even so far as to be employed by them? And yet, seemed to get mostly international talent? And yet, the Canadian-born coach sees good in American players?
It was an honor to present your colors, RPI. Let's Go 'TUTE!

and all three women's coaches are American, but they have recruited a lot more in Canada recently.

All we really want is winning.

    Edit: Oops, Vines is Canadian.
    That kills that argument.

I'm sure as heck not going to do a year by year analysis, but just a quick glance at Appert's 16-17 roster appears to refute this.

On Thursday, the Boston Bandits (NCDC) defeated the Syracuse Stars 4-2. Jack Brackett had 2 goals and an assist. . https://www.usphl.com/view#/game-summary/174

    Brackett's line is now 8-8-2-10-0.

I will check in the morning if the stars are listed. They usually aren't, but I'll give him #1 anyway. .

I was looking up Sarlo Ralph & it appears he’s only played 1 game so far for NJ Avs 18U (9/27) in the AYHL. Not a bad game either 3g, 2a........ http://atlantichockey.org/teamplayer...hp?teamid=2489
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.
