            Cooperating, as when Mueller asks him in for an interview, he shows up? Or cooperating as in ratting out the boss?

            The fact is, it's the former, but in the article, good ol' Maggie attempts to portray it as the latter. McGahn's just in CYA mode.

                Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

                      McGahn, as a close advisor to the President, would be someone covered by executive privilege, or more specifically, the Presidential communications privilege. (As opposed to say, deliberative process privilege, which extends further out from the President.) If the President chose to invoke this privilege, McGahn or other close advisors would be barred from testifying. In actual practice, they would seek the President's permission to testify or respond to a subpoena (for example) in order to give him the opportunity to invoke this privilege.

                      So basically the White House counsel can't just be compelled to testify about the President against the President's will without some major, major constitutional issues coming up. I think Trump saying he "allowed it" would actually be accurate in this case.

                        One thing I think we can count as truth: Trump lies openly and constantly, on matters big and small.

                        Two more: No Republican politicians (not retiring) are willing to call him on it. Republican voters will still support him in the booth.

                          So he allowed the guy to perjure himself? I got a little lost in there but coherence is lost on this President.

                          And how are there various versions of truth? Wellll... he sort of reminds me of the demented patients that are parked by the Nursing Station that make up what ever seems to make sense to them at the time (look at developmental differences section)

                            I get what Rudy was TRYING to say. 4 different people can witness an event, and each person will have their own point of view on what happened.

                            That being said, if Rudy can't articulate that...JeffC, that is *ing scary and no way I would want him as my lawyer. That's un-effing real.

                              Well, if it were you or me no one would ignore the blatant inconsistencies and downright lying coming out of our mouths, the threats to anyone who wanted to testify against us, the personal attacks and libeling. If anyone else were to do these things they would be toast.

                              Look at the description in the statement he had read revoking the Security privileges. Tell me he didn't write a description of himself that was so airtight it left no questions. He doesn't need anyone competent. He told us already he can shoot someone on 5th avenue and no one will care. And he has metaphorically shot a bunch of things and people with no repercussions. What would he need anyone legally competent for. He just needs someone to blow smoke outta their but at regular intervals so everyone gets their knickers in a twist.
