The message from the Egypt coach to play two complete 45 minute halves may need to be revisited.

Portugal is very lucky. Could have very well been out with that last Iranian miss in the 94th and from how they were describing the rule (not that this WC has been great for referee analysis) Ronaldo should be out for next game.

I thought from another WC that the plus ones didn't extend across rounds. So for example if you got it in game 2 of the Group you were out for game 3, but if you got it in game 3 you were OK for the first knock out game.

The suspension for accumulation carries over, a single yellow does not.

I think starting last time, they now wipe the slate clean again for the semis, so that no one misses the final unless they get a red in the semis.

Glad Morocco got eliminated. They can eat a buffet of dicks after their accusations against Mark Geiger.

No, they do. Reset happens at the beginning of the semifinals. So you can still be suspended from the semifinal due to accumulation, but you cannot be suspended from the final due to accumulation.

One of the loudest collective cheers I've ever heard when that miss happened. Another 4-5 minutes of jubilation when stoppage time ended.

I'm in Tel Aviv, so it makes a bit more sense.

Probably wasn't clear, I meant the rule of contact to the head when not playing the ball rather than the accumulation. Throwing bows to the face in isolation usually isn't great to do if you want to stay in the game, but it does help your cause to be a top 2 player in the world.

Believe Australia can advance on goals scored with a 1-0 win and France beating Denmark 1-0. Not unreasonable.
