Its fine. Had to go to the doctor because 1) I didn't think my tetanus shots were up-to-date, and I essentially stabbed myself with a rusty piece of sheet metal. (Shots were good though, I forgot I got a booster before going to Colombia a few years ago). 2) There is no way this thing doesn't get infected as all hell, so I needed antibiotics, the doctor agreed. 3) I figured I'd need stitches, but the doctor said it was already sealed up and healing an hour after it happened, and something about I must be a wolverine, apparently wolverines heal fast? Also, she apparently doesn't like stitching dirty puncture wounds.

It didn't look like a stitchable wound, frankly. All the medicine, sure.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

It was worse than it looked in the picture, that was after it had sealed itself back up, so you can't really see how nasty it was. Mrs. WPOS looked at it right after it happened and thought it should get a couple stitches, and, as you know, she does medical stuff.

Mrs WPOS does know her stuff, I'll give her that. Was unaware that was an "after" pic. My parents were both EMTs.

Keep me posted -- I will be there the 16th - 21st for Memphis in May. If you're sailing by, take some time to wave at Tom Lee Park.
Shoot me an email through here and I'll send you my phone number.

All of this. I would have been horrified if she stitched it. Unless they lavage and scrub that would be the biggest no-no!

This doctor is probably my favorite that I've seen. I don't go to the doctor often, but this was the 3rd time this year already. I saw this same doctor when I had an inner ear infection in January. She told me "It might hurt like hell, and it is going to suck, but you have to fly to Vegas. I mean, its Vegas. If your ear drums burst, I'll fix you up when you get home. Take a ton of Sudafed and hope for the best."

Too many doctors that I have seen seem antisocial and standoffish, like it is an inconvenience to them that you are there. This doctor is the complete opposite, and it really leaves a good impression.

The wolverine comment was a comic book movie reference, dl.
"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." George Orwell, 1984

It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." Boromir

Well that is why it didn't make sense to me. I tend towards movies with actual plotlines.
