I assume only 1 driver, then. Back in college, we had a bus go straight through from Duluth MN to Dallas TX with 2 drivers. Only pizz stops happened (we brought our own food).
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

The NCAA just changed the rule to allow 19 skaters to dress for each game. This is an interesting dynamic as I would assume most coaches would go with an extra D to protect for a D-man leaving for a major, etc. For Tech this could have a quick benefit allowing Rockwell to dress for most games to add his offensive upside to the lineup. It definitely gives the coaches an extra specialist type player to have available.

I think I've talked about them quite a bit over time...I guess I may have been lazy and not written about Gotz, Bellant, Noble, or Jurusik yet...

Let's just say its going to be difficult to make the 19 dressed and the 21 road travelers (if its 21 now?) Swoyer, Buckley, and Gotz all have a chance to break top 6.
Broetzman, Bliss, and Parrottino are experienced USHL forwards while Halonen is a little younger. All will be pushing for time. I expect Broetzmand and Bliss to be pushing for Top 6. Parrottino and Halonen aren't far behind. Noble, Bellant and Polglaze are likely more role players but they should be very good at what Joe asks them to do and will be pushing hard too.
Jurusik is about as good as MTU could have expected to get for a goaltender. He has the chance to again make goaltending a 3 horse race and has 2 years of eligibility left which fits in nicely with other plans for the future. I expect Kero to start in goal but Jurusik and Beydoun are right there...

This paragraph sounds like a broken record but MTU should be very deep next season. It will be interesting to see how Joe keeps 17 forwards, 9 defensemen and 3 goaltenders happy.

I'll be honest, I haven't been on much lately, just too much going on in life, but wanted to see what the thoughts were. Hopefully enough to let us compete for a top 4 spot and get a home playoff series this season.

I think expectations should probably be a bit higher for this group.

My expectations are a Frozen Four appearance. The same as they have been since 1975.

                          I should clarify.

For next season, I see 3, maybe 4 teams in the WCHA that should be really good. Top 10 in the country good? Probably not, maybe 1 or 2 of the teams, but I think there are 4 that will be regularly in, or in-and-out of the polls next season. Tech is one of those 4 teams. I just hope that what I perceive as a significant improvement in talent at the top half of the league actually results in some increase in non-conference wins, so the PWR shake out a little more favorably.

Unfortunately, while I see the top half of the league as being as talented as it has been since the re-org, I think the bottom half might be the worst it has been.

11 is a big group. Definitely a defining class in terms of tracking Shawhan's ability to develop players and set a higher bar each year.

After what happened last year, I'm pretty jaded on the idea of having 3 potential starting goalies and riding their ups and downs. While I think this likely is a home ice team, I'm not ready to say they're a conference champion repeat. They're going to have to be better than .500 in their out of conference schedule to have any shot at an at-large bid, and that's a tall order when 6 of their 8 NC games are on the road. I'd be much more confident if Reinke had stayed another season, but they'll have to work with who they have.

I agree on Reinke. That will be a big loss. The only thing that helps that one is pretty much everyone knew he was going to be leaving early, so the staff was able to prepare appropriately.

On goalies, I think they will all get time early, but I think this next season, Joe is likely to pick a guy earlier and ride him. I am thinking that one they ride will be Jurusik, but who knows.

With Lucchini, Jackson, and Steman gone next year, this is the year to raise to the next level.
I expect this team to start better than last year and continue to improve through the season.
I am curious to see where the polls fall. The lineup is as good as I can remember.
