'Hurst takes advantage of a turnover by Gabel, creates pressure and almost ends it. Then Gabel breaks on a 2 on 1 and almost ends it on the other end. Thus far, the defense and goaltending standing strong.

At the ice scrape, Mercyhurst has had the better of play in the first half of OT. Clarkson has looked, dare I say, sloppy with the puck.

Giguere comes in on a 3 on 2. The Mercyhurst defenseman backs up and takes out her goaltender. Giguere puts it into the empty net.

Time clocks on the screen would be nice...only Colgate vs NU has one out of the last 3 games.

If the streaming folks/school don't put the time remaining in the game on the screen, all the cameraman/woman has to do is to put the camera on the score clock at EVERY break in the play. A lot of schools do it, it's better than nothing.

Once it gets to NCAA Tournaments, the NCAA should mandate the onscreen play clock as being something that it is included in the service. They could also specify where the time should live, and what other features (such as penalty time, SOG) should also be viewable on screen, and examples of how this can be achieved. I'd guess the problem is that most providing schools either don't think of these things at all, or don't have any idea of how to make the features work. I understand that everyone is using different software, but it would at least be a start (and a few Googles would likely answer most questions from that point).

Clarkson's equipment is OLD. Their graphics thingy blew up and it was not replaced this season. Their cameras are old and blurry.

Unlike a cetrain green and gold SUNYAC school whose broadcasts put many D1 (except that unmentionable school in Troy) to shame.

Unless you watched the video from Mankato a few years ago where you were looking thru netting from a position approximately from the face-off circle at one end of the ice, you have no right to complain about online video.

Of course it was nice of them to put it up for free, but you really had to be hard up to watch a hockey game to watch the complete game.

For any school or streaming service that tries to cover college hockey games check out the Colgate - Northeastern game replay . That is how you broadcast or stream a college hockey game. And that quality was also there during a regular season Mercyhurst - Colgate game so I assume Colgate has that quality for the entire season. Great to see.

Colgate also just built a brand new arena and I would assume put in all the necessary amenities for a good broadcast. As vic said, some of Clarkson's hardware blew up at mid-season and our TV station's budget is controlled by student activities and the student senate. They just can't go out and get $25K or $100K for a new piece of equipment. Also of note, we don't have anywhere near as much money in the fund as any of the other D-1 programs. I've argued that we should get some more money out of the general fund to make the broadcasts better (even before the equipment blew up) but it doesn't seem like that's an option.
