Forwards, IMO, need to develop chemistry and it takes more than just a 2 or 3 game segment for that to happen. Scoring is a function of chemistry between forwards. Knowing where each other is and trusting when to make the pass. At times this team was to much "INDVIDUALS" and not enough "TEAM". Solid D1 players, this team has more than just Hayhurst and Riley. It doesn't matter who I think they are, my opinion doesn't matter. Only the HC opinion matters. Changes are coming that's for sure. I don't believe this team will carry a roster of 34 and with that said I'm sure more than the 3 seniors will be leaving. Will all just have to wait to see who they may be. Many people have rumors but only the players and the HC no for sure. But Im sure the HC has a plan.
When a team doesn't score (RPI has had chronic scoring ineptitude) line combo adjustments can , should and will be made. To not do so would be malpractice. These forwards have had plenty of opportunities to bury pucks but have not delivered. RPI has been the ECAC equivalent of the Montreal Canadians - simply cannot produce offensively. Changes are coming there's no doubt. Where they lead is anyone's guess. I liked the work ethic I saw, but the unanswered question remains offensive production.

So you're resting on laurels of two years. Maybe two more years that had mild success given we were above 500 (09-10, 15-16). What happened to consistency? Sure, there are going to be good years and there are going to be bad years, but the roller coaster crapshoot is not something you want to see.

I don't disagree, actually I agree with the player dev. part. Dude, they don't give those players to just any1. Live long and prosper

And that hits the nail on the head for why Appert wasn't a good fit for a NCAA head coach. He has the all star mentality, as you could see in his recruiting. When you're a school like RPI, you rely much more on having the right players to build team chemistry, not necessarily the best players.

As it happens, I ended up st UMass -UVM game yesterday. Chatted a UMass fan about Shane Bear. He was a Micheletto recruit (not Carvel) and was part of a 9 player class. He's a small kid with a good offensive game - puck mover and PP guy. He played in Jrs. with Cale Makar who was a 1st rnd pick of the Avs and is now also at UMA. Carvel definitely leaning toward a larger d corp and Bear was odd man out. Guy thought he'd do really well in the ECAC.

I have to assume that all three of our seniors were scholarship, so we're not going to have much available.
I don't always find out. These are the ones who I am sure: E. Ohrvall. Hayhurst, Manley, Polino, and Prapavessis. there probably were others.

People need to get over the decision made last year. What's done is done. Belly-ache in 4 years if nothing changes.

I will be shocked if the empress is gone in 2 years. So long as she's able to walk and have drivel come out of her mouth, she will remain in that position.
I agree that the amount and effectiveness of in-game adjustments has doubled if not increased tenfold.

I remember the RIT game where we able to shut down the backdoor pass after it worked twice on us. Granted, teams kept using it for the next couple weeks so it obviously didn't sink in at practice and had to be constantly reinforced, but at least it gets addressed then and there.
