I'm glad you've finally admitted the basic issue: your fun against others' lives.

Yeah. You lose. Get over it.

here's the deal, drew. you get to keep all your guns except the AR/AK style weapons. All others are limited to at most, 15 shot clips.

      take it?
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

        Slave OWNERS.

But no, 40 acres and a mule comes from a field order issued by General Sherman to give freed slaves land. This order was later rescinded by Congress.

Lincoln changed our history in very important ways. I wonder how different things would have been had Andrew Johnson not succeeded him, assuming it would have been someone with a vision consistent with Lincoln's.

Who is going to compensate me for those and all of the magazines over 15 rounds? What do you do when you catch people with those items? There is a great story in today’s WSJ about our financial plight, yet we are going to spend billions of dollars trying to buy back guns? There is a bigger picture which a lot of people on the left are ignoring.

The two most common gun deaths are a criminal shooting another criminal or suicide. Those have been largely brushed aside.

I'm not buying back guns. The gun owners lose. People who had heroin when it was legal were not compensated when it because a controlled substance.* In any case, I'm telling the fondlers to f-ck off.

              * I actually have no idea what happened. That would be interesting.

So removing guns would prevent numerous suicides and murders? Not seeing the downside.

Depends who's being murdered. Bear with me on this.

If gun murders and suicides tend to take out gun owners and their families... particularly prior to reproduction...

I mean. Just a thought. Maybe leave it alone for awhile.

Maybe Wayne LaPierre and his buddies will compensate you. They claim to be on your side anyway...let them prove it.

So you’re going to confiscate personal property and not compensate people for it? Wasn’t that something the nazis did as well?

Happens all the time when sh-t that used to be legal becomes illegal.

But we'll wait a while until the population of gun owners is smaller and they have so many guns it will bankrupt them. Two birds one stone.

Don't worry; there will still be Viagra.

I think a lot of times in those cases it depends whether the government is taking property for public purposes (compensation owed) versus some sort of regulatory power to prevent crime, such as occurs in drug forfeiture cases and the like (no compensation owed).

I think there is actually a case working it's way through the federal court system on this issue, however. I think it had to do with a ban on high capacity magazines. It'll be interesting to see how it comes out.

My guess is there were probably all kinds of lawsuits on this subject from the first time that assault weapons were banned, but maybe not.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

It was only the manufacture of them that was banned before. You could still buy brand new high capacity mags after the bill went into law.
