Coming back from Alaska a few years back, there was all kinds of travel chaos and some NMU players got bumped. They were not allowed to keep the vouchers they received.

What a great recruiting tool.......Wish to thank the league for the great MVP milage plan they awarded our players.

UAF made the kind of hockey history on October 10th 2015 that no team wants to claim Ė the Nanooks became the first NCAA Division I victim of Arizona State.

Iíve seen the bulk of our team show up on the first class waitlist for Alaska Airlines flights.

We have a two week roadie, although thereís a bye week in the middle. This is the best travel schedule Iíve seen for the Nanooks in years, of not decades.

They certainly fly enough to qualify for at least MVP status.

But as a rule, unless teams opts to stay out three weeks, they will come home in between.....

Iím sure both Curley and Largen have received interest from some guys who would want to be a D-I assistant coach but for both picking the right staff is going to be real important for them, so Iím not surprised nothing has been announced. Moving to Alaska is a big step for a quality assistant coach who is currently employed somewhere and the money as well as security would have to be good I would think. One name Iíve heard thrown around is Anchorage native Tom Kowal who played two years at UAA, went back to junior (Talafous) and finished at UNO. Kowal has taken his NAHL team to the final four NAHL playoffs but has been on the east coast for so long he might not be interested.
I think it is probably a good thing that neither Curley or Largen have quickly jumped to add an old buddy, that usually doesnít work out.

No clue. Not much being said about the program right now. Have I mentioned how much I hate the upcoming schedule?

    From ADN:

"According to NCAA, the (UAF) hockey team used ineligible players in every game played from the 2007-08 season to the 2010-11 season. Over that span, the wins and ties will all become losses. 4 wins and 2 ties came against rival UAA".

    UAF is 56-86-12 vs. UAA.

Do the Universities have no say in the way they schedule the games?

Every school submits the dates their arena is available for home games to the league office. The league then sits down with those 10 lists and creates the master conference schedule. The teams then fill in their non-conference schedules after that with dates that are available for them and the non-conference opponent.

The teams are permitted to make changes with other league teams as long as both parties agree to the changes.

I've heard that the schools have 3 weekends they can specifically request to be at home or on the road. LSSU generally uses one in mid-November (opening of firearm deer season) and early February (International 500 snowmobile race).
