This does have about a 12 minute clip of the news conference.

Video is still there. Takes a bit to load but it is right above the paragraph where Curley thanks UAA.

"According to NCAA, the (UAF) hockey team used ineligible players in every game played from the 2007-08 season to the 2010-11 season. Over that span, the wins and ties will all become losses. 4 wins and 2 ties came against rival UAA".

Good luck to Curley. More than a few college hockey fans are rooting for UAA to turn things around.

Welcome to Anchorage Alaska Seawolves Coach Curley

The New Senior Head Coach in Alaska......
    Alaska Dispatch .... Doyle Woody
UAF made the kind of hockey history on October 10th 2015 that no team wants to claim – the Nanooks became the first NCAA Division I victim of Arizona State.

It was there but then it disappeared. The only way I found it again was by doing a search. Odd, right?

Welcome Coach Curley. His resume may be thin for a D1 head coaching job but after learning more about him he seems easy enough to root for and I hope he does well. Any word on salary? Part of me wonders if the university targeted him because they knew Curley wouldn’t be able to use another D1 school as leverage, so they could low ball him. What about staff? Anyone, players or coaches, going to follow him from RB?

I’d like to see the list of people who applied? Was there anyone besides Hill with HC experience? Other assistants? Or were they Dads who took a coaching course at some point?

I saw on twitter (I think from a CHN reporter) that Trevor Stewart from the Ice Dogs applied.

Heard Stewart also applied at UA-F. They were in Minnesota and out of town over the weekend....Could he be the guy?

Interesting article about why Carle turned down the UAA job.

    https://www.denverpost.com/2018/04/2...nver-pioneers/

Rumors of Montgomery coaching in the NHL. Clearly Carle thinks he has a future there as their head coach.

“Being from Anchorage and offered that opportunity was difficult to turn down. At the same time, working at Denver is really special to me and it is a goal of mine to ultimately be the head coach at Denver someday,” Carle told The Denver Post. “For me, the best way of doing that is to stay at Denver and continue to help build on our programs accomplishments.”
It will be interesting to see if it pans out the way he thinks it will.

    Hey a Tavis MacMillian sighting!

After reading this I'm convinced Carle at UAA would've been a disaster, for him and UAA. Not the type of job you want for your first head coaching gig. So much is already baked into the cake at Denver.

Separate note, as a Dallas Stars fan I don't want a college coach as our next head coach.
