Maine is 16-13-4 vs. a weak SOS. And, that's the best record they've had since Red's 1st year, when the team was 100% Timmy recruits. I don't see any real "uptick", because -by any reasonable measure- that just doesn't exist.

There is no way in the world I would extend Red at this point. Absolutely no way. That makes zero sense on the basis of what he's done so far. He's been a bad coach, plain and simple.

However, if the incoming recruits are as good as you think they are, that class might save his job. (Not holding my breath on that one; Red has already had plenty of time to turn things around, and he hasn't.)

So, I'd tell Red: it's the NCAA's or walk, and work behind the scenes to promise Guite a chance, maybe, or just attempt another re-build. What, really, does Maine have to lose either way?
Maine’s SOS is in the top half of the country.

Yeah, Maine’s out of conference schedule wasn’t easy at all. Miami, UMD, and Quinnipiac have all been good in recent times and the other four games were away from home. I’m not sure exactly what Fishman expects.

No, it isn't... It's #32 of 60 teams, and Maine is barely above .500 in spite of that fact.

Get real, fellas... Time to stop whistling past the graveyard.

          (See the below.)

And as far as how good Miami, et al, were in years past, that doesn't matter a bit this year.

It’s been an average schedule because of how weak Hockey East is. I’m not sure how you can be unhappy with that.

He expects them to win a game against a team above .500

Or a home game against the worst team in the league.

10 minutes in time of possession in offensive zone? About 20 seconds maybe

He is on record wanting more than 10 wins. And Wally is on record fora win away, just one. Check, check.

I am on record wanting now 19 wins. Looks unpromessing.

Win or lose tonight will not matter much. Unless the players want to win.

I know how bad it has been. But come on man.

I don't believe Maine made more than one or 2 passes in offensive zone until 1.30 left in period. That was the first time they cycled the puck in 1st

Pretty hard to score when you don't possess the puck in BCs zone.
