It's early, but it's starting to look like Quinn might just have that je ne sais quoi to add him to this discussion soon.

Hold on there, sport. BU has made the NCAA tournament four years in a row. They were in the championship game (and would have won if not for a certain "drop" by a certain unnamed goaltender) in 2015, beat North Dakota out west in OT last year and beat #1 seed Cornell this year. They lost to a better team last night. (you knew I would take the bait, right?)

I mean, Enrico Blasi is still coaching right? Given that Miami has fallen off the map a bit and isn't even position for a postseason "umiliation" anymore, he seems to have already taken the torch from Dickie U.

Cornell, Miami, St Cloud and UNH should play in some sort of postseason tournament every year and give a trophy to the loser of the consolation game.

Hard to disagree with that. Plus Enrico Blasi likely passes the FBI test. We have a winner.

Y'see ... to the newbies on here, this here is a tame example of the kind of fun we used to have on here before another program that (up until 2002) fit in very nicely with the above group decided to break form, and then ended the discussion forever by winning 3 more in a 5 year stretch. And all it took for those guys to break out of their seemingly permanent membership in the perennial loser's bracket was to recruit a Canadian kid (ironically, UNH ended up with his less-talented little bro), which used to be verboten due to a certain *legendary* former coach of theirs.

Now that Coach Umile has (been) retired, UNH can hook up Souza and Stewart with those passport thingies that used to so annoy their coaching mentor, and start bringing in folks from outside the Amtrak/Acela footprint. Let's learn from those who somehow managed to escape the netherworlds of terminal gackdom runner-up status.

FWIW, I think that the passport thingies have been a relatively recent burden for recruiting across our northern border.

Congrats to UNH third liner Warren Foegele on his NHL debut

We remember his last three games where the plucky underdog worked his way up from the fourth line

First goal in the first period of his first game. Where can we find players like that?

Good for him. An excellent forward. Was totally blown away watching him at the XL Center this year. UNH's loss.

He was lucky to get any ice time on the fourth and third lines at UNH as we had lots of senior depth on the forward lines back then.

Fact is... collectively we didn't win anything. Fact. Period.
