Very disappointing- NCHC has TV contract
    Big Ten has own network
Streaming deal is like no deal
Many Hockey East teams have been streaming here all year-BC-UNH

The Big Ten also has COLLEGE FOOTBALL and COLLEGE BASKETBALL to subsidize the production, infrastructure, and marketing needed to support a dedicated TV network. Apples to... well whatever the biggest kind of orange is possible.

NCHC I would imagine has a much bigger slice of the sports "pie" in their biggest markets compared to Boston/New England, which has 4 pro teams that HEA has to compete with for attention.

This is a win, in that those of us with ESPN3 access will get to stream more games than we wouldn't have otherwise essentially for FREE. It's an at least somewhat progressive move towards the cord-cut future.

I do think that working with NESN is the best route to grow the league/sport, since a lot of bars, etc are apt to leave NESN on for HEA games when the B's/C's aren't playing.

Unfortunately NESN had no interest in Hockey East except for the tournament games
Some teams have funded NESN to have games televised
The league needs to think what new team would help that situation
Quinnipiac which has some games on SNY would expand the leagues geographic area
Some have complained that you need an ESPN subscription (cable) to view games on ESPN3
At the same time many schools are free streaming their games--
Watched BU-UNH Friday and 500 were free streaming on you tube channel-good or bad number-not sure

Its funny the link says tickets start at $17 as I checked on ticketmaster and for the two cheapest tickets the total was $75. On top of that they offered a parking pass for the low, low price of $50. I think in the offseason the powers that be need to have a re-think on the tournament and everything else Hockey East does. For the tournament maybe Verizon would be better. The tournament just doesn't draw the way it used to and Verizon might be more convenient and cheaper for a lot of people.

I'd much rather see the league get back to 10 teams and have the teams play each other three times. Playing each other twice hurt the league a lot in my opinion.

Expansion isn't the answer. Notre Dame expanded the league's geographic area and look how that turned out.

Quinnipiac's games this year are on ESPN3... coincidence? Perhaps Quinnipiac trying to get into Hockey East and bring ESPN with them?

                    I’m thinking coincidence.

While we’re on the topic of ESPN -

Why why WHY do they NEVER show NHL highlights during SportsCenter? They’ll show countless NBA highlights but not NHL! It’s SO annoying!

                        ESPN knows what hockey is?

Let's plan the parade for Joe Bertagna. What an accomplishment.

Well, BCs home games are also all on ESPN3 this year.

No thanks. I enjoy the balance of conference to non conference as it is now.

C's are on NBC Sports Boston (Comcast Sports). Back in the day there was a stretch where the Hockey East games were on what was then Fox Sports New England (now NBC Sports Boston). Doesn't seem like that is a possibility, who knows.

What has the ESPN3 experience been like? Is it like the BU Agganis feed, a high quality HD feed of the game with minimal production value, or is it closer to a full-fledged TV production?
