I'm not making value judgements; but, it's reality. Gimme something now is the American way (see also: $21 trillion debt).

In November, WaPo was saying the Rs wouldn't, couldn't, pass tax reform. What changed?

Are you saying "the heist" and paying off donors was more important than the risk of being seen affiliated with Trump?

If Trump goes down they'll be tied to him in every opponent's campaign ads. Heck of a risk.

"Senator Rumplebutt voted with impeached Donald Trump and his reckless tax plan that pushed gramma off the cliff and exploded the debt!"

Pretty sure after reading that part in italics Scoob had to excuse himself.

Then they're playing at a very dangerous part of the risk/reward curve.

yes. They are likely going to lose their majority in at least one chamber. They needed to deliver. Plus Ryan is going to love the tax cut when he retires and starts making big bucks selling stupid books to people that like to masturbate to Atlas Shrugged and appearing as a Fox News Contributor.

If you were going to have all your campaign money taken away what would you do?

Every single one of them has a high paying cushy lobbying job waiting for them. See Governor Tim Pawlenty for context.

What risk? Everyone who voted for the heist now has a private sector golden parachute waiting for them.

Plus imagine what happens to the GOP if Ryan replaces Dump. The Flags of the world go nuclear. It will be something to see. I swear the Dumpies will create a third party.

Of course it was. The Heist the only thing of importance to the Republican party. Everything else -- stoking anger against minorities, Muslims, liberals, immigrants, gays, women -- is just a method to get into office so they can steal that money.

The Republicans have long stated they don't believe in government at all. Their Members are simply corporate paratroopers who drop in, sabotage, and then are exfiltrated back to business.

You're telling me they are willing to give up a ticket into the world's most exclusive club and all the perks that come with it. Money is nice; power is what gets them off.

Moreover, what they've done can be undone. You have to hold the reigns to keep it from happening.

Yes, because being a member of congress isn't really all that different from being a lobbyist who writes laws, controls votes, and gets showered with cash.

They have shifted all the power from government to corporate boards and wealthy dynasties. Remember the study: the rich get every policy they want, the middle class only gets what happens to coincide with the rich's interests.

                                That is power.
