yes. They are likely going to lose their majority in at least one chamber. They needed to deliver. Plus Ryan is going to love the tax cut when he retires and starts making big bucks selling stupid books to people that like to masturbate to Atlas Shrugged and appearing as a Fox News Contributor.

If you were going to have all your campaign money taken away what would you do?

Every single one of them has a high paying cushy lobbying job waiting for them. See Governor Tim Pawlenty for context.

What risk? Everyone who voted for the heist now has a private sector golden parachute waiting for them.

Of course it was. The Heist the only thing of importance to the Republican party. Everything else -- stoking anger against minorities, Muslims, liberals, immigrants, gays, women -- is just a method to get into office so they can steal that money.

The Republicans have long stated they don't believe in government at all. Their Members are simply corporate paratroopers who drop in, sabotage, and then are exfiltrated back to business.

You're telling me they are willing to give up a ticket into the world's most exclusive club and all the perks that come with it. Money is nice; power is what gets them off.

Moreover, what they've done can be undone. You have to hold the reigns to keep it from happening.

Yes, because being a member of congress isn't really all that different from being a lobbyist who writes laws, controls votes, and gets showered with cash.

They have shifted all the power from government to corporate boards and wealthy dynasties. Remember the study: the rich get every policy they want, the middle class only gets what happens to coincide with the rich's interests.

    That is power.

No. It's obvious money is all they care about. That power gives them unlimited access to cash. Cash and Power while in office. If they have to leave it's golden parachute time. See Tim Pawlenty for context.

    Kepler's explanation is even better.

They'll pay less next year. In seven years when the temporary individual cuts phase out, we pay more.

And a D takeover changes the power dynamic.

The Rs want their tax law. But without retaining the power to protect the tax law it's worthless. It can be undone.

The Rs went for it: the tax law even at risk of being tied to Trump if he goes down. Bold, brave, insightful, or a swan dive into a dumpster fire.

Another way of looking at what you are asking, name one piece of legislation that is just wanted by the Rs other than this tax cut.

    Just one.

That was not dump. That was fully R. That is exactly what every other state has done to undermine government. The only difference here is that a balanced budget isn’t required.

This concentrates power to the corporations farther than we have in about 100 years.

We never undid Reagan. We've been circling the drain for 37 years and the Dems never did anything but talk, even with a clean sweep and super-majorities.

    The rot has set in.

So, are you inferring or implying that the Ds are part of "the heist"?

They've been out maneuvered and outgunned in Congress since Reagan. Obama tried one thing (Health Care) and it was such a legislative nightmare that it destroyed the party until Trump got elected. Republicans know how to use the minority and they know how to use the majority. Democrats don't.
