The elder Bushes did ooze class. And much like Nancy Reagan, you didn't want to p* off Barbara.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Unfortunately, yeah. Longtime couples seem to go that route.

I have absolutely no interest in outliving Dr. Mrs. and we're only at 19. I can't imagine what 50 feels like.

Sounds like she did more in her lifetime than others could do in 3. She will be missed.

FWIW, I have a pair of great-great-grandparents who died nine days apart. Also my Baer great-great-great-grandparents died exactly two weeks apart. What I don't know is if either pair died for the reason you are implying or they caught the same illness.

mookie's maternal grandparents went quickly. grandma passed, and then a couple weeks later pop was gone.

when 41 goes mookie will not benefit from the day off due to the markets being closed. though they may honor him here. but prolly not with a holiday.

either way, mookie will be sad. 41 is a good man. served his country well.

Great pipes and a genuinely good guy who was the voice of the Pats in the 1 - 13 years. Glad he was still on board when the better times came.

Did anyone try to wake him up?
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.
