It's not even my opinion - it's what I discovered over time during a YT rabbit hole a few years back. I might argued the same as some of you before that but not now after hearing from his peers.

I like Nirvana. My favorite grunge band is Alice in Chains, though. While I don't worship Kurt and Nirvana like some do, I don't think they are overrated. I just don't have the same opinion. They were incredibly influential.

Hipster would be if we were trying to one-up our cred with each other by naming local bands no one has ever heard of.

Where do old uses of the term "hipster" leave off and newer ones take over?

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness,
              starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for
              an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection
to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night
              . . . .

Best thing that happened to rock was Kurt's demise.
Without that theres no Foo Fighters.

Personally, I don't think the Foos are that great. Grohl w as a better drummer than a guitar player or songwriter. To me they're just meh.

Marty Balin, co-founder of Jefferson Airplane/Starship.

Loved this song when I was 15. Still do.

I was gonna hunt you down and cut you if it was "We Built This City." Horrible song.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

That crap came after Balin left, and they hired that hack Mickey Thomas, dropped the 'Jefferson' and totally sold out and went chasing the money. Plus, that was when I was 25.

Early Jefferson Starship was basically Airplane without Jorma and Cassidy, maybe a bit of a smoother sound. I gotta dig out my albums and give them a re-listen.

Miracles, which, whenever I hear it, always reminds me of the '75 World Series, was such a huge hit for them at the time, that they had to try to duplicate it on their next album.

I dig the early stuff. The 80s stuff was crap.

Yep. "Jane" is the last hit of theirs I like.

I still prefer the early stuff like "She Has Funny Cars" and "It's No Secret" though.
