That has always been my contention about a genuine socialist program in the US. It's adoption and the subsequent lack of apocalypse would destroy the main talking point of the right of the last century.

It's also why the GOP had to destroy Obamacare. They could never allow it to succeed because it would give the lie to their entire ideology.

This is the real 9/11. The enemies of democracy won a huge battle today.

Fixed that. US hasn't been capitalist since the Industrial Revolution.

But that does leave *some* hope that someone will have some sense.

CA, NY, and NJ are all Democrats in the Senate. Not much hope. Corker, Collins, and McCain are not coming to the rescue.

By the way. The very "pass through" tax provision that is in the Federal Bill comes from Kansas. Kansas destroyed their public schools doing the very thing we're bringing national. What a great idea.

And it's caused the system to be gamed as hell. Bill Self gets a base salary from the University, but all ancillary pay such as endorsements, camp revenue, etc goes to an LLC so he can get the pass through tax rate. And he's far from the only one using that scheme. I'm guessing all smart independent contractors do the same thing.

Yep, that's one of the loopholes. But, I'm dumb because I point out how my tax rate is higher than the rich.

Ever wonder why these uber-rich virtue signalers have their own "charities"? You've just explained it. Sure they might "help people", but it's really a slush fund for the "CEO". Clinton Foundation keeps 97% for their own.

Oh, and you'd be surprised at how many of them aren't in support of the bill you're whining about.

They finally got their Arctic Wildlife Refuge drilling passed. Lisa Murkowski supports it.
