Never seem to escape without a close call at the end. Can we never win an important face off? A win is a win. Take it, get off the ice, and come back tomorrow for a sweep that is sorely needed.

Recognizing the good shot is always key, too. We've had a lot of cases where we try to force the shot and it gets blocked by a forward, too. That's the kind of thing that leads to SHGA.

It wasn't pretty, but I will take the two points.

Yale took only four penalties - but that was two too many.

Stating the obvious. We take far too many shots from outside without working the puck in closer. Always better to move the puck in, even if the point man has to skate it in a bit, so the goalie has less time to react to the shot. i cannot remember when our boys had this as their modus operandi.

I don’t know if they listed the final stats on RPI tv, but they had 10 SOG on their 4 PP’s. Nice to see them shooting more when they had the extra man.
Also, Dr. D will like this, faceoffs were just about equal.
Had Marshall in the PtC, almost picked up a shutout. At least I’ll get a QS out of it...

Might be the 1st game RPI had the edge in FO, 32-31. Now, that’s the total but as usual it would be interesting to see where/when FO were W/L. http://www.rpiathletics.com/boxscore...ockey&id=13016

Taking shots from the outside is not in itself a bad thing. We need to work on getting people in front of the net for rebounds and tip ins. We are not very good at either of those two things. I have seen hall of famers make a living out of sitting in the right position to pick up rebounds.
