Wow!! 1-0 after the first should have been a sign that Princeton was still in it. Easily could have been 3-0 Cornell with the amount of pressure they had. Lucky bounce on the first one, Robinson did what he does best with that second goal...Princeton's fastest skater delivered. But that third goal by Veronneau...still in awe. Princeton seemed to block a decent number of shots, and they played the type of game they needed to play to win- didn't break, and took advantage of their chances against a bigger team. Cornell's goal was the result of another freshman defensive mistake.
One more game to go- didn't expect a win tonight, but still get to enjoy the ride for at least one more evening! If it's Princeton-Harvard tomorrow night, I think the champion will be on the east coast for the NCAAs. Mercyhurst losing tonights means that remaining Atlantic teams all have a lower Pairwise than any of the remaining ECAC teams, so assuming St. Cloud stays no. 1 and plays in Sioux Falls, they'll play the AH champion. Someone please correct me if I'm interpreting that the wrong way...
This team played St. Cloud head to head and held court. A very cohesive team that worked through their inconsistencies. Congratulations. The Princeton hockey ticket is the best sports ticket in the universe.
