My best friend was doing a Behavioral Science internship at a Catholic mental hospital on Long Island in the 80s. One night he came over to my house and said "I need a drink." Then he told me a story about almost exactly like this: they had a schizophrenic patient and a couple of their staff were hyper-religious and were asking the doctors to recommend an exorcism. The doctors looked at them like they were crazy. So they went to the priests and the priests said "oh for f-ck's sake" (I mean, in a priestly way)) and then they shut up.
