    brits

A junior doctor’s career was “in tatters” yesterday after he was convicted of indecently assaulting a woman during consensual sex.

Philip Queree, 37, met the woman through the dating app Tinder and had sex with her on their second date. During sex he squeezed her breasts and pulled her hair even though she told him he was hurting her. Afterwards, she found she had marks and bruises....

It was the wedding picture that wrecked a thousand marriages.

When Matthew, 27, and Carly Lunn, 34, tied the knot last month at one of the holiest sites in Greece, they wanted a wedding photograph that they — and everyone else — would remember for some time.

After the civil ceremony at the Greek Orthodox monastery on the island of Rhodes, the happy couple adopted a pose where the bride kneeled before her spouse, and appeared to perform oral sex in her wedding dress, as Matthew punched the air, with his trousers and underpants around his ankles. They immediately posted the picture on their social media sites, proud owners of their lifelong memento of the happy day.

While family and friends of the couple said…

A primary school has apologised after a letter was sent asking pupils to dress as slaves for an event to mark Black History Month.

Pupils at St Winefride’s Catholic Primary School in Newham, east London, were told to wear “dirty and worn out” clothes stained with tea or coffee.

The letter also asked the year two class to arrive with “straw hats or fabric head wraps” for the special assembly.

“It might be an idea to not wash these clothes and stain them with tea or coffee to look more authentic,” the letter, seen by the Newham Recorder, said.

The school’s headteacher, Paul Underwood, said the letter had been sent without the approval of senior staff.

“I apologise on behalf of the school for Friday’s unauthorised letter and the offence caused,” he said.

One parent questioned whether Jewish children would have been asked to re-enact the Holocaust.

But others came to the school’s defence. Samantha Peters, who has two children at the school, said the criticism was “unfair” and praised teachers for their efforts to remember the “ugliness of slavery”.

A spokeswoman for the school said the stunt was “not in keeping with the ethos of the school”.

“We deeply regret the offence caused to our pupils and school community,” she said. “This letter was sent out without the approval of the school’s senior management team or governors.

“We have written to those who received the letter to apologise and we have also spoken to the members of staff involved and taken steps to ensure an incident like this does not happen again.

“We understand the importance of Black History Month and celebrate this by studying the success and achievements of black role models.”

Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai trolled for 'wearing skinny jeans and heels' instead of Muslim dress at Oxford University

Women's rights activist Malala Yousafzai has been trolled for 'wearing jeans and heeled boots' during her first week at Oxford University.

The Nobel laureate was criticised after she was seen in an unverified photo, published in Pakistan media, apparently swapping her shalwar kameeze for skinny jeans, ankle high boots and a bomber jacket.

St Helena tortoise has a gay old time

    https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/n...time-6lcvnff7p

He is the oldest resident of St Helena, though age has not dimmed his ardour. Even at 186, however, Jonathan, a giant tortoise and probably also the world’s oldest living creature, has not seen everything.

The female he has been wooing these past 26 years, is, it seems, not the Frederica he loved, but Frederic.

The two became smitten in 1991 when the French consul, guardian of Longwood, Napoleon’s final home in exile, presented the governor of St Helena with Frederica as a mate for Jonathan.

Of late, Frederica has been poorly and needed repairs to a lesion on her shell. Closer examination found that she had a slight deformity from a juvenile injury but, more startlingly, it also revealed that Frederica was probably male.

They already did. Charles, William, and George just happened to be born first so it hasn’t come up yet.

Only for the ruler, apparently, or this would not be an issue.
