Re: POTUS 45.21 STAND for our great National Anthem
I'm glad to see this ending. A lot of the cerebral "Ivy league liberals" never learned how to street fight and they were no match for the likes of Atwater and Rove. Paradoxically, the internet is helping because it brings everyone in contact with the kind of scumbucket ratf-cking you have to deal with to win a political debate when everybody up and down the bell curve is participating. Intellectuals don't even moan about Endless September anymore, thank god. It's taken for granted that every statement not only has to be defended on the merits but also against the dimwitted rhetorical tricks the orcs deploy.
Guys like Dukakis and Gore and Kerry froze when somebody slandered them or just outright lied. They weren't used to it; they didn't have any defense against the pure stupidity of those attacks except to look around and say "nobody's falling for this, right?" But of course millions fall for it, and if you don't come back hard those millions are convinced the loudest braying is the "truth." Mix in the right's cynical manipulation of anti-intellectuliasm to undermine the whole idea of peer-reviewed fact, and unless you can fight back you lose to the dopes.
