The Nets were a vote away from becoming the Swamp Dragons.

Possibly the most 90's thing to never occur.

Re: 122 Franchises Ranked Bottom to Top:

    101. Kansas City Chiefs

    a.k.a Dallas Texans

Why?...Although a decent team in recent years, the Chiefs have gone through long stretches of losing and bad playoff play.

    The Good….Won Super Bowl IV

The Bad....Three playoff wins since that moment.

The Ugly...with head coaches like Marty Schottenheimer and current head coach Andy Reid at the helm, you now understand why the Chiefs are terrible in the playoffs.

Where they play? Arrowhead Stadium, and old, loud building. Part of the Truman Sports Complex with the Royals adjacent Kauffman Stadium nearby.

Owner: Hunt Family, with Clark Hunt as CEO. Lamar Hunt applied for an expansion franchise in the NFL in 1959 and was denied, he gathered other investors to help form the AFL in 1960. Hunt’s team was the Dallas Texans, however he was losing ground to the new NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, hence the move to Kansas City in 1963 as the Chiefs.

Coach: Andy Reid, full time head coach and part-time Kool Aid Man, Reid is considered one of the best regular season coaches out there but a below .500 playoff coach.

Top Current Players: Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Alex Smith, and Marcus Peters

Hall of Famers…Len Dawson, Lamar Hunt, Bobby Bell, Willie Lanier, Buck Buchanan, Emmitt Thomas, Derrick Thomas, Will Shields.

Re: 122 Franchises Ranked Bottom to Top:

    100. Florida Panthers

Why?...Literally no one gives a rat’s *** about this team.

The Good….Got the Stanley Cup Finals in their third season (1996). On the night of the Panthers' 1995–96 home opener, a rat scurried across the team's locker room. Scott Mellanby reacted by "one-timing" the rat against the wall, killing it. That night, he scored two goals, which Vanbiesbrouck quipped was "a rat trick." Two nights later, as the story found its way into the world, a few fans threw rubber rats on the ice in celebration of a goal. The rubber rat count went from 16 for the third home game to over 2,000 during the playoffs

The Bad....The only time they sell out is when they offer an Early Bird Special from 4:30-6

The Ugly...Despite getting a huge lift by the expansion rules of the time, the Panthers became very good very quickly, but have failed to advance to the playoffs since that 1996 season.

Where they play? BB&T Center in suburban Broward County, next to the Waffle House and empty Blockbuster Video.

Owner: Vinnie Viola, a billionaire, was nominated as Trump’s Secretary of the Army before withdrawing. Viola claimed there were too many strings. The original owner was Wayne Huizenga of Blockbuster Video fame, Blockbuster was a thing in the 1990’s.

Coach: Bob Boughner, nicknamed “The Boogeyman”, not because of his rough play but he actually enjoys going to home and scaring little children in their sleep.

Top Current Players: Roberto Luongo, comes to mind. Aleksander Barkov as well.

Hall of Famers…There are a few that had cups of coffee with the Panthers. General Manager Bill Torrey is more known for helping to create the Islanders dynasty, but he did help create the Panthers early success.

It's apparently an eagle, though it sure looks like a seagull.

There is a seagull, stuck on a poll:

I like the eagle a lot better.

My cousin lives down that way, and he went to a game or two back during the rat tossing days. He told me, "Think about this. They actually sell these toy rats in the arena team souvenir store. So, you throw all these toy rats on the ice. They clean them up. What do they do with them? They probably put them right back in the store for the next game. They just keep reselling the same rats. What a racket!"

    99. Philadelphia Phillies

Why?....the last original MLB team to win the World Series

The Good….2 World Series Titles is better than none.

The Bad....Prior to the 1955 season, 13 of the 16 original MLB teams had won the World Series. In 1955, the Brooklyn Dodgers broke thorugh. In 1966, the original St. Louis Browns, now the Baltimore Orioles broke through. It took until 1980 for the Phillies to win their first World Series.

The Ugly...Did you know that in 1964, the Phillies had a 6 ˝ game lead in the National League with 12 games to play. The Cardinals won the pennant.

Where they play? Citizens Bank Park, it replaced the old Veterans Stadium, that replaced Shibe Park, that replaced Shibe Park, that replaced the Baker Bowl.

Owner: Phillies Limited Partnership (led by John S. Middleton), in fairness the Phillies are rather limited team.

Manager: Last week, Gabe Kapler, was just named manager for the 2018 season. Has the nickname “The Hebrew Hammer”….oy vey.

Top Current Players: Maikel Franco and Aaron Nola

Hall of Famers…Richie Ashburn, Steve Carlton, Mike Schimdt, Chuck Klein, Robin Roberts

1908 winners. The Phillies took a while for win #1.

IIRC, the St. Louis Blues are the only remaining Second 6 without a Cup win.

Depends whether you count the Seals as the Dallas Stars or not. That merger was weird.
