It's apparently an eagle, though it sure looks like a seagull.

There is a seagull, stuck on a poll:

I like the eagle a lot better.

Why?...Literally no one gives a rat’s *** about this team.

The Good….Got the Stanley Cup Finals in their third season (1996). On the night of the Panthers' 1995–96 home opener, a rat scurried across the team's locker room. Scott Mellanby reacted by "one-timing" the rat against the wall, killing it. That night, he scored two goals, which Vanbiesbrouck quipped was "a rat trick." Two nights later, as the story found its way into the world, a few fans threw rubber rats on the ice in celebration of a goal. The rubber rat count went from 16 for the third home game to over 2,000 during the playoffs.
My cousin lives down that way, and he went to a game or two back during the rat tossing days. He told me, "Think about this. They actually sell these toy rats in the arena team souvenir store. So, you throw all these toy rats on the ice. They clean them up. What do they do with them? They probably put them right back in the store for the next game. They just keep reselling the same rats. What a racket!"

            99. Philadelphia Phillies

Why?....the last original MLB team to win the World Series

The Good….2 World Series Titles is better than none.

The Bad....Prior to the 1955 season, 13 of the 16 original MLB teams had won the World Series. In 1955, the Brooklyn Dodgers broke thorugh. In 1966, the original St. Louis Browns, now the Baltimore Orioles broke through. It took until 1980 for the Phillies to win their first World Series.

The Ugly...Did you know that in 1964, the Phillies had a 6 ½ game lead in the National League with 12 games to play. The Cardinals won the pennant.

Where they play? Citizens Bank Park, it replaced the old Veterans Stadium, that replaced Shibe Park, that replaced Shibe Park, that replaced the Baker Bowl.

Owner: Phillies Limited Partnership (led by John S. Middleton), in fairness the Phillies are rather limited team.

Manager: Last week, Gabe Kapler, was just named manager for the 2018 season. Has the nickname “The Hebrew Hammer”….oy vey.

Top Current Players: Maikel Franco and Aaron Nola

Hall of Famers…Richie Ashburn, Steve Carlton, Mike Schimdt, Chuck Klein, Robin Roberts
Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.

1908 winners. The Phillies took a while for win #1.

IIRC, the St. Louis Blues are the only remaining Second 6 without a Cup win.

Depends whether you count the Seals as the Dallas Stars or not. That merger was weird.
