Then he should have used a borough name. There are plenty of self-evident contradictions there. The Queens Non-Vietnamese. The Staten Island People with Class.

Because every team called "New York" represents the entire state? Oh that's right you still think I'm a Red Sox

                51. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim/Orange County/Burbank/San Juan Capistrano /Hollywood/Beverly Hills.

                (a.k.a. Anaheim Angels/California Angels)

Why? Did you ever see Angels in the Outfield? There was enough saccharine in that movie to make anyone watching a diabetic.

The Good. Won their only World Series in 2002 as a wild card. Nine AL West Division Titles.

The Bad. The Angels were never really terrible, just most of their history is not very good. Their history is very under the radar. The Angels were in the ALCS three times from 1979-1986, unable to win the pennant.

The Ugly. The original name is the Los Angeles Angels, it changed to California Angels in 1966 as they broke ground on Anaheim Stadium. After renovations were made to Anaheim stadium, owners the Disney Company renamed the stadium Edison International Field of Anaheim, the city of Anaheim by contributing $30 million was able to make an agreement to call the team the Anaheim Angels. When new owner Arte Moreno bought the team in 2005, he re-named the team The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, a move that was heavily panned by fans. This also led to lawsuits by both cities.

Where they play. Angel Stadium of Anaheim, known for its “Big A” outside the stadium and many still refer to it as Anaheim Stadium. They also housed the Rams from 1980-1994.

Owner: Arte Moreno, is the first Mexican-American sports owner. Despite the naming controversies, the Angels have been successful.

Manager: Mike Scioscia, first known as a catcher for the crosstown Dodgers in the 1980s-early 1990’s, Scioscia was the catcher in the famous Homer at the Bat Simpsons episode in 1992. Scioscia became manager of the Angels in 2000. He is the longest tenured manager in MLB, and the second longest tenure among the big four leagues (Popovich).

Top Current Players: Mike Trout and Albert Pujols

Hall of Famers: While no one has an Angels insignia in Cooperstown, Nolan Ryan played with the Angels longer than any other team. Rod Carew played in his later years with the Angels.

                Up Next: The Minnesota Vikings

You missed the "Angels curse" from the 70s when three of their prospects / players died -- one a suicide, one in a drive-by, and I forget the other one.

                    50. Cleveland Cavaliers

Why? Without LeBron James, this team would be in the triple digits, almost like the Browns without Jim Brown. But they have LeBron James and they have won the NBA’s Eastern Conference the last three seasons.

The Good. Won the NBA Championship in dramatic fashion in 2016. Four Eastern Conference Championships (2007, 2015, 2017)

The Bad. Some expansion pains led to middling success in the 1970’s. New Owner Ted Stepien made very questionable trades that led several failures in the early 1980’s. The NBA stepped in invoke the “Ted Stepien Rule”. The new rule prohibited teams from trading away first-round picks in consecutive seasons. Had a 24 game losing season that spanned two seasons in 1982, originally a record breaker. The season before LeBron was a 17-65 season. Went 97-215 during the four season when LeBron played in Miami.

The Ugly. On July 8, 2010, in a televised special LeBron announced that he was going to sign with Miami. LeBron jerseys and murals were burned as the fans felt betrayed. Even the pre-LeBron moments are ugly. When the Cavs went 57-25 in 1989, the Cavs had the 2 seed in the playoffs. Today, everybody remembers Michael Jordan’s jumpshot over Craig Ehlo in the Gatorade ads. The game knocked out the 2 seed Cavs in the First Round.

Where they play. Quicken Loans Arena. Formerly known as the Gund Arena (named after the owners of the time), the arena allowed the Cavs to move from suburban Richfield to downtown Cleveland.

Owner: Dan Gilbert, owner of Quicken Loans and famous for his meltdown letter after LeBron’s decision to move his talents to South Beach.

Coach/Puppet: Tyronn Lue, Lue played 13 seasons mostly as a backup. But, lets not pretend that Lue is calling the shots here shall me.

Top Current Players: LeBron James, Kevin Lowe, Tristan Thompson

Hall of Famers: Some have had a cup of coffee, but we are sure LeBron will get in on the first try.

                                49. Golden State Warriors

(a.k.a. San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia Warriors)
Why? While they are enjoying the greatest of successes now, let’s remember this has been a very crappy team most of their history

The Good. Current NBA Champions. Won 5 Titles 2 in Philadelphia (1946, 1955) and 3 in Golden State (1975, 2015, 2017). While in San Francisco, the Warriors made the NBA Finals twice. Won a NBA record of 73 wins in 2016.

The Bad. . Failed to reach the semifinals from 1977-2014. Long periods of not making the playoffs. Only making the playoffs once from 1994-2012 (In fairness the 2007 team as an 8 seed beat Dallas in the first round.)

The Ugly. In 1997, Head Coach P.J. Carlesimo was choked out by star forward Latrell Sprewell during a practice. Sprewell was suspended for the season then traded to the Knicks the following season. In 1980, the Warriors traded for the #2 pick in the NBA draft to select Joe Barry Carroll. All they had to do was give the Boston Celtics Robert Parish and a draft pick that was used to select Kevin McHale.

Where they play. Oracle Arena, is the oldest NBA Arena in current use (1966). In Oakland, The Warriors started playing there permanently in 1971 hence the change from San Francisco to Golden State. A new arena is being built in San Francisco to be completed in 2019.

Owner: Joe Lacob, bought the Warriors in 2010. His claim that the Warriors are “light years” ahead of everybody else in the NBA did not win him too many friends.

Coach: Steve Kerr, spent 15 seasons as a NBA players with several teams. Currently in his fourth season coaching the Warriors.

Top Current Players: Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson

Hall of Famers: Tom Gola, Joe Fulks, Paul Arizin, Wilt Chamberlain, Nate Thurmond, Rick Barry, Neil Johnston, Chris Mullin, Guy Rodgers, Sarunas Marciulionis.
