I personally don't care if the government tracks what I do online or what I have for guns. I can see where people would be uneasy with it though.
And as we've established, what's important above all else is that gun owners feel at ease.

Correct. Just remember the first amendment is meaningless without the second.

I have never known a consistent Republican voter who didn't immediately begin foaming at the mouth the second you suggest a national registration DB for firearms.

I would exempt antiques. We don't care about the flintlock that a Civil War reenactment nerd brings to his mock battles. But a DB of all semiautomatic firearms would be a fair starting point.

There are a lot of gun owner votes out there.

Sure, but if the cops can run a serial# to see if a specific gun has been reported stolen then allow ammo shops the same. If in fact the gun has been reported sorry no sale.

They're ****ed they have to register to conceal and carry. Let's abolish that registration too. Everyone can conceal and carry, no license needed. Wild West here we come.

I like to think of it more as only two machines, or mechanisms of man, are specifically mentioned as allowed per the Constitution:

                - press, as in printing press*
                - arms

Those will always be the most important machines to man**. Their forms may change (look down, see keyboard), but their importance remains.

*Remember, there was no cadre of ink stained wretches going to ol' King George's "press conferences" when that was written, because there was no "press corps". People were free to speak and print, via the printing press, as they want.

** You don't have to like it, but history says it's so and humans so love to repeat history.

No offense, but who gives a crap if they are paranoid? If a bunch of car owners feel the same way should we all just fight to not register our cars. Why does this country treat gun owners like some sort of protected class? And why do they act like a bunch of snowflakes anyways?

If, for instance, someone wanted to find out how many guns BassAle may have purchased, or what types, you'd have to do a hand search of the forms.
                    Gee...I wonder why that is.

They are snowflakes. That's why they need all those guns in the first place.
