No sam Anas on this roster but I like Tufto and he will score. There are just way too many 3rd and 4th line players on this roster and not enough big guns.
I think that's what I'm getting at.
And let me ask another question: Where has Landon Smith been so far this season? Has he been getting scratched, or am I just not noticing him? That's a guy that needs to give more if this team has any chance.
The Bobcats looked like a team on the second night of a really long trip -- tired and making a lot of mental mistakes.
The effects of an bye week early in the season. We've seen it too many times. I had hoped that the extra time would help them, especially coming off a great road weekend at NU.
Just too many mental lapses... how many offsides (some that weren't even close) can one team take? There were stretches where they played extremely well, even outplayed Big Red, but they couldn't sustain it or would do something stupid and momentum would swing right back the other way.
They'll need to find a way to pull it together tonight. Colgate has a goalie who will steal a game so their best effort will be required.
Way too early to panic but this team just isn't gelling the way I thought they would. While there's no superstars out there, there seem to be enough talent to make something of it. For now, I'm blaming it on the off week.
Also hoping Aldworth's injury wasn't too severe. A trail of blood across the ice is never a good thing.
Regroup and come out swinging tonight.

Landon is out there. He's never been flashy but has somehow managed to amass 100 points, so he's doing something right. Cornell did a good job of shutting down our first line last night. They were all over Smith and Tufto, and MacMaster got pummeled every time he touched the puck. Even Whelan seemed to draw a lot of attention.

Bingo. That should be the game plan for every team against Quinnipiac because they have not shown that any other players can step up to contribute.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...
To be totally honest, our best player last night might just have been Kevin Duane. He tried to dance toe-to-toe with some of the pylons out there and even won a few battles in the corners.

Really??? I saw a player that was way too slow out there last night and seemed to be bogging down his own linemates. Gets way too much ice time in my opinion but Rand must see something in him I guess. Would rather see more Jermain and less Duane.

I'd like to see Jermain off the Duane/Aldworth line

OK, this may not make sense to some, but some teams need to lose before they win. These guys are not playing as a team out here yet. When you're not a team, you cannot begin to make a play out on the wing or in the crease with a subtle look, nod or other tick that let's your team mate know in an instant, going to make a move. None of this exists with this team yet and may not. This is a young team also, with an 'over the summer' ascension as upper classmen move on and Freshman get real ice time and responsibilities. The issue is they did not show me or anyone they were ready to play end to end brand of hockey last night.
Rand knows, you get real stinkers, and I am going to watch this club, see if they grow closer off and of course, on the ice. Will this team be better on the road than home? Maybe, since they are likely still young and not used to being coddled on campus like they are and frankly, should be! This program makes Quinnipiac Diplomas more valuable and recognizable. I recollect elder Quinnipiac College alum having to address the question, "Quinnipa - what?! Quinnipa - who?!"
Thanks to the hockey program and world renowned Quinnipiac Poll, these questions no longer are asked. Good job Marketing Department and Coach Rand Pecknold, who I do not know and have never met.
Never saw that train wreck coming. Another night of sloppy play. There's no cohesion out on the ice. Not sure if they're just not playing the systems or if it's a talent problem. Seems like for everything they do right, they do three things wrong. Both Cornell and Colgate were beatable this weekend. Neither team played exceptionally well, but they did capitalize on their opportunities while we didn't. Our power play is nowhere to be found. Too many passes, not enough shots, and nobody parked in front.
While Point was good in net, he left some nice rebounds but we had nobody around to sweep up the trash. The majority of our shots he was able to see and track. With some 2nd and 3rd chances we could have gotten more rubber past him.
Just an ugly, ugly weekend getting swept at home... hopefully that's a wakeup call for them. This level of play is not going to get it done in league play. Makes next weekends trip to the capital district really interesting and important. Gotta figure out what's broken and get it fixed in a hurry.

Tough weekend for Jermaine....stepped on teammate last night and gave up tonight’s break your back goal. Teams 3 man umbrella PP needs to adjust. Passing up top all night creates no shots or opportunities

Colgate will not beat this team twice...I believe this is good team but this weekend was awful. Towards the end was Best pressure when goalie pulled with 5 minutes on clock
