Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...
Unfortunate way for it to end. Think BU was the better team. Harper was a one man wrecking crew. Petruzzelli kept us in it. Puck possession through the first two games is something to worry about. Whelan looks ready to lead the offense but we will need much more than that. Which brings up the point I made after our loss to NoDak in Tampa, we need more high end offensive guys. You could tell BU was loaded with draft picks and we had none on offense (note: Rand spoke about wanting more NHL draft picks in his presser).
From where I sit, after two games, we look to be able to compete for an ECAC championship (will be tough to take out Harvard but possible) but wont be able to be an elite team with some talent restraints offensively. Defense/goaltending will allow us to compete on a nightly basis but the offense will need to step up to win games.
Not a bad opening weekend considering the opponents. We won't see a better team than BU all year IMO.
