It's funny how people are trying to paint it as a big benefit to the 'middle class.' The middle class benefits some, but not nearly as much as higher wage earners.

You remove the deductions for kids and mortgage, and the middle class ends up paying more, not getting cuts.

And btw, just who are these "people" trying to paint it as a middle class benefit? Why don't you call it like it is, instead of always making it seem like it's both sides doing it?
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

What people? I haven't seen a single actual human who has fallen for it. The GOP and Fox will lie about it, sure, but nobody real.

This gonna be a straight theft in broad daylight. They got some cover on Dubya's, and they actually had the fools cheering on Saint Ronnie's, but this one is just a straight smash and grab, no frills. "Try and stop us."

Sorry, I was referring to ending the state tax deduction. I obviously did a horrible job wording my post(not for the first time.) The plan floated is a complete disaster. I'd keep the estate tax(George Washington was completely against transferring wealth between generations), get rid of or cap deductions to only benefit people who make under $200K, raise the top rate to 40%, and increase the standard deduction.

We probably agree on a lot of things. I think we would differ on what we would do with the extra revenue though. I would put it towards the deficit and I assume you would want to spend some of it.

The Plan is to kill it. It's brilliant because it attacks the blue states who give a sh-t about their citizens, and doesn't scratch the red states who let their citizens die.

It's basically taxing civilization to pay for barbarism.

The free states should just secede from the slave states. After all the whining from the former it would be hilarious to go all Nullification on those boobs.

Some of it, yes, but I believe in deficit reduction too. OTOH: halve the defense budget and put every cent towards deficit reduction.

I'm not sure I would go that far, maybe 20% or so. There definitely is some sand there though. They should do more to reduce entitlement spending too; means testing, raise the retirement ages for social security, try to get people who can work off of SSDI, etc.

Make entitlements into charity. Means test the f-ck out of them. Raise the estate tax on assets over $10M to 75%, $100M to 99%, $1B to 99.9%.

Probably because it isn't true. It's one of those internet tropes that gets repeated willy-nilly by those who want to believe. David Koch was a donor and on the board of trustees for WGBH (PBS Boston) for years. This was eventually conflated into "The Koch's bought PBS!" Koch resigned in 2013 and hasn't been a donor since. He's not on the NPR board. And NPR checked a while back and they could find no record of Koch's ever giving anything to NPR. Not that they couldn't be giving. Just that apparently nobody at NPR knows about it which would seem to be an odd way of going about controlling NPR.
