From espn.com: "The Cubs scored eight runs against the Dodgers, all via the long ball, losing 11-1 in Game 5. According to Elias Sports Bureau research, it’s the first time a team playing four or more games in the playoffs scored all its runs in a series on home runs. The Cubs were unable to produce one rally, going 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position."

If NY wins the AL (and that's a pretty big "if" playing a really good Houston team in Houston), and if NY were to somehow win the WS (another huge "if" given how the Dodgers are playing), in my mind that would be the most impressive MLB post-season performance I've ever seen. To go through the 102 wins Cleveland, followed by the 101 wins Houston and 104 wins LA, would be impressive.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Dodgers - Astros would be a microcosm of 2017; they are so much opposite in every way:
                  - "Astros" - Kennedy Space Center; "Dodgers" - people who jumped out of the way of streetcars in Brooklyn.
                  - no income tax state vs highest income tax state
                  - oil and gas producers vs green energy devotees
                  - "real" economy of actual stuff vs "virtual" economy of fairy tale and make-believe
                  - hurricane or drought vs mudslides or wildfires or drought (oh wait on this last one...)

Well, the people who play on these teams are clearly from the cities and surrounding areas in which they play. So it all makes sense...

One is a baseball team from Houston Texas.

The other is from Los Angeles California.

Texas vs California is a way of projecting an area's characteristics onto the team from that area.

                        EDIT:
It's meant in the spirit of the mayors of each city making nonsense bets based on whatever they are famous for.

Are you one of those people who doesn't understand light-hearted playfulness?

No one really thinks the Yankees are "evil" just because they are called "The Evil Empire."

Lighten up, it's, as you said, only baseball.

A Kennedy was murdered in each state.

Judge HR: 112 exit velocity, 144 ft apex, 425 ft per Statcast. That apex is silly, just a total Moonshot.
