The story is about how the FBI started to recognize "serial killers" as a category of criminal; their thinking, their profile, etc. The first 2 episodes are a bit slow and awkward, and I expected that. This type of story almost always starts like that. So far, so good, though.
Finished it up today. It was pretty good. I wouldn't put it on the top shelf of shows, but most definitely worth watching. Probably on the same level as the Unabomber show they have on there. There's an obvious lead-in to a second season, but dunno the contract situations/etc.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Ack, I missed it. God bless On Demand.

Had a funny discussion about CEG with a friend. She said she doesn't like the show because Rebecca is such an awful person. That's what I love about the show. Even when she does "I learned something today" she only becomes worse in an even more oblique way. I keep expecting the show to wuss out and make her in at least some fashion likable, or self-aware, but it never takes the bait.

I can't think of another show that does that. There are minor characters who are there as comic foils who never change, but that's just it -- Rebecca changes all the time. She has an infinite number of chances to reflect and reform, and she is sometimes on the verge of it, but then she just falls down another of the rationalization holes we all have.

My theory is that Rebecca is like this because she's actively creating herself, and good comes not from theory but from constraint -- from having to just shut up and provide, or be loyal, at least be there, for others. So CEG is an indictment of every vacant self-help message and every solipsistic "make the world a better place" movement that resides in our heads rather than our actions.

Agreed. Rebecca is terrible, and so is josh chan really. I love that they don't try even make her decisions seem like good ones.

White josh and Daryl are the healthiest people on the show but I wasn't a fan of their storyline this week.

The guy who plays Kemper is uber-creepy; tremendous job by him.

Tried my best to get into Lucifer S3 after giving up midway through S2. Same problems: none of the supporting characters are interesting and the plot lines are like a parody of bad 80s cop stories. Lazy, hackneyed writing and a reminder of how bad most of scripted television always was. Disappointed!

I am. I love it. The premise is fantastic. I have a few issues (who doesn't 3 episodes in) but if they work through those satisfactorily I'll be happy and stick with it.

I gave up on it too. S1 was great. Season 2 I tuned out around the same time as you. It just lost its charm. Which sucks because I liked the characters.

Really? Cause to me, it doesn't seem any better or different than half the stuff out there today. Seems like a re-write of Heroes to me.

That explains why you're so enamored of it. To me, it's just sorta "been there, done that". Not to mention, nothing new in the 'sentinels hunt for mutants' story.

But then, I'm old and cynical.
