Haiku is this theme for this week...

            1. WISCONSIN
            One doesn't own rank
            One creates it with talent
            and lots of hard work
            2. CLARKSON
            Inside the Cheel
            Those gallant, splendid Knights fight
            With all of their might
            3. BC
            Blinding moves galore
            A maroon, stong eagle shines
            After the magic
            4. COLGATE
            Beamy wintertime
When you wish upon a starr
            dreams will take you far
            5 OHIO STATE
            Across the causeway
            Comes a western, red Buckeye
            And stands as the wall
            6. CORNELL
            Program on the rise
It's fun to be at Lynah
            To see the Big Red
            7. MINNESOTA
            Some maroon tarnish
            But Ridder is still unmatched
            As the gold standard
            8. St Lawrence
            A good evening
            When various, fast Saints soar
            To vanquish the foe
            9. MAINE
            Black Bears have some life
            No longer East bottom dwellers
            first round at Alfond
            10. MERCYHURST
            Momentum building
            Conference tourney their shot
            to be number eight
At the outset, we could hang with the dude...

[QUOTE=FiveHoleFrenzy;6603055]Haiku is this theme for this week...

Reminds me of a story two years ago during the Rugby World Cup:

An error in the promotional materials means the New Zealand All Blacks will have to perform a haiku instead of their traditional haka, before each of their remaining matches in the Rugby World Cup.

Cup organisers apologised for the mix-up, but said consumer protection rules meant their hands were tied – if the advertisements promised an All Blacks pre-game haiku, a pre-game haiku needed to be delivered.

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen said he and his players were initially worried about the prospect of coming up with 17 syllables of poetry, but were relieved when they we found out a syllable was not necessarily even a whole word.

“Even better, apparently with a haiku we don’t even have to worry about making it rhyme” said coach Hansen. “To think we wasted all that time learning a Maori war dance when we could be just going on about the ‘grass expectantly poised’.”

Opposition teams were nervous about the prospect of facing an All Blacks haiku. England coach Stuart Lancaster said his team were perfectly relaxed when the All Blacks perform their blood curling, throat slitting haka, but the thought of facing Richie McCaw, Ma’a Nonu, and co reciting Japanese poetry was absolutely terrifying.

“Poems black as night. Give us the heebee jeebies. Relieved soon knocked out” said Lancaster.

OMG really? this guy should stick to food sites. that was like driving a car over a cliff in CA while being conscious during the landing...then walking to the hospital through a global warming march with a compound fracture of the femur...then arriving to find out the operating room is on the top floor and the elevator doesn't work because Moonbeam is performing his power grid shutdown to save the seals in San Diego.

I started reading your response and at first I was certainly finding it entertaining but then...I started to think no he didn't did he? The more I looked at it the more it seemed like it had some meter to it so I was like...Dang, this is making some sense in Haiku terms and just started putting it together...

                            Maybe something subconscious?
