now here's a question. After the first round, say a lower seeded team has won and has to play another lower seeded team that also won. At what rink would that series be played. ? Same for the semi's. let's say BG comes to NMU and wins, and lets say whoever plays mankato also wins. At whose rink will that next series be played?
Teams are re-seeded after each round.

ok so the team that beats Mankato in this scenario, they are a lower seed than either Nmu or BG because they finished lower than those two in the regular season, correct?. So I guess I don't get how that is re seeding?

My guess is after all the games are played in the 1st round all the winning teams are re seeded according to their current (win/loss) record. The team with the best record is the the highest seed. If 2 teams have the same record, you then go to the WCHA rules for a tie-breaker. Off the top of my head I think it is how your record is head to head against each other. The WCHA website would probably have the playoff rules there.

For example: 2,4, 6 and 8 win the first round. For the second round, 2 becomes 1, 4 becomes 2, 6 becomes 3, and 8 becomes 4. In round 2, 2 and 4 win - two hosts the championship.

In plain English, the highest two remaining 1st round seeds will host the two lowest remaining 1st round seeds. First hosts the worst and the two middles play each other.

A teams's win/loss record after the first round has no bearing on the reseeding process. Whether you advance with a 2-1 series win or 2-0 series win doesn't matter.

So? By sweeping BG, the Huskies would pull even on points with the Falcons and hold head-to-head tiebreaker (the GLI game doesn't count). Tech doesn't necessarily have to pass Bemidji to get home ice in the first round.

nice week for Minnesota State capped off with a 1-0 win vs UMD tonight. Should be pretty close to guaranteed in the NCAAs as long as they dont implode.

Disappointed, surprised, somewhat pleased with the non-con results? I thought we'd do a little better against the Big, and we did finish strong by sweeping them in the GLI, but otherwise we're probably not all that far off of where most people would have guessed.
Let's at least whip up on AH next year!

Being above .500 against only one conference has to be a disappointment. There's no other way to describe it.

I would go with disappointed as well. When I went through the schedule at the beginning of the year, I was hoping for 25-30 wins for the league. Right now, Mankato is the only team with a Pairwise that will get them into the NCAA. If no one knocks them off during the WCHA Tournament, we will be a one bid league again.

I would agree. I'm disappointed with the results. The conference 100% cannot go under .500 against the AHA. Until the league as a whole gets to near .500, it will be a 1 bid league. Mankato did their job this year and we could get 2, but the leaders within the conference the last 2 years (including Kato) didn't do their job in the non-conference. It must get better in the future. I know it will take a while, but I see this league following the lead of the ECAC, but it will take time until new blood will be able to turn programs around. I thought the league might take a step forward this year, but this certainly wasn't it.

So with ASU getting approval of their new 5,000 seat on campus arena......what's next for conference re-alignment?

                              https://www.azcentral.com/story/spor...ue/1060244001/

You have to assume they will approach the NCHC again.

The NCHC obviously would not want to add just one team, so that means a second team would also be on the move......Minnesota State? Problem is WMU and Miami have made it known they aren't looking for another "Minnesota trip" added to the schedule and their preference is BGSU. BG has been reluctant to even look at the NCHC to this point, preferring to look at possible "CCHA reboots" instead.

                              Should be interesting again......
