I think it is going to be a tough season for the Islanders. I wonder if Tavares leaves after the year or is traded at the deadline.

          Sigh. I know.

If they can't close the deal on Tavares there will be mass ritual suicide at Barklays or Mitchell Field or Commack Arena or the Port Washington Skating Center (deep, deep cut for all fellow travelers) or wherever we wind up. It will be the most depressing time in team history and my god just think about that statement.

The biggest question is how does Garth Snow still have a job.

I personally think Tavares is leaving, he is just being really polite about it. It will be odd to see him in a different jersey.

He's doing a better job of hiding it than Matt Duchene, who would clearly rather be anywhere but Denver at the moment.

Joe Sakic should be fired as well, for how he has handled that team and that situation.

This Cup drought is getting old.

For that comment, I hope you have the success of the Blues.

I agree with all of that except it is not nearly harsh enough.

The losing has been one thing, but the sheer embarrassment and incompetence would have ruined hockey for me had I not been lucky enough to get sucked into D-1.

They badly need new ownership or at least a competent GM who can start over after Tavares is gone (assuming that happens). Knowing Wang though he'll probably just hire some retread rather than doing anything remotely innovative.
