I'm not at all. The timing would be about sunrise, and I assume they were praying. Would this disturb anyone on this board? Am I just nonchalant about it, because as an athiest I'm used to people praying without my participating in it? Are some Christians so used to everyone around them practicing the same religion, that to see someone practicing a different religion is scary to them?
Or is it more likely to be because these are black, likely Muslim, likely immigrant (don't speak much English) men that instills fear in someone?
It doesn't sound to me that it is the Christianness per se of those people that makes them terrified of Muslims. It's their general reactionary f-ckwittery. Now, the characteristics that make people fall for right wing politics also tend to make them fall for certain garish flavors of Christianity, but we're really talking about the failed culture of rural whites -- their ideas about gods are just another cultural marker like their ideas about gunz or gubmint.

Not everyone is capable of thinking about that. Just like Thumpers aren't real Christians Radical bombers aren't real Muslims. But then a lot of the Thumpers don't think Christians are Christian either.
