JJ MacInnes reported there was no cell service in the area.

Butt dialing a pay phone sounds awkward

Thanks. It's hard building a movement for the truth that there were, in fact, NO attendees there, it was all an elaborate inside ruse.

Under condition of anonymity, the following information was gleaned from an inquiry to the office of Elba mayor Mickey Murdock.

The reported attendance of 2 for the BFB South Regional was reported erroneously. The official now reveals that the two people in question were in fact the ones from the disabled vehicle outside the rink, but they did not pay any admission fee to the event or for that matter venture into the facility.

The timeline now reveals the following information:

As the UAA-RIT game was starting, the two people in question approached the rink to ask how to contact the roadside service vehicle. After pointing out the pay phone in the rink had been disabled (a call to telecom provider BellSouth confirmed this), the couple were directed to the Family Dollar store just around the corner from the rink off Claxton Avenue. In gratitude for the recommendation, the couple left some money as a thank you tip for the attendant. Realizing he could not pocket the gift without claiming it as income on his tax return, the attendant concocted the story that it had paid for two tickets to the event, absolving him of the income but forcing the rink to report it to City Hall as part of their hosting agreement. The money was delivered to the city clerk's office, which has been vacant since the resignation of Jack Mullinax in 2017. Since the city council has yet to accept his resignation, the post has yet to be officially filled. The money in question still sits in a tattered manila envelope on a desk inside.

                That settles it.

We'll take this as the official line on what happened.

I remain suspicious. None of this explains the grainy footage of those two being escorted into the airport hangar in the desert six months ago. #ElbaWasAnInsideJob

The northeast regional just happened to be flying a cubesat two miles to the South of Elba and it picked up a weak sat phone signal bouncing off a nearby government box at or near the the strangers visit to the rink. I suspect there's more to this than meets the eye. #BottomFeedersIsaFrontforSomething

At least we have something to talk about before the Futile Four results go up this weekend.

Wisconsin had a National Championship loss back in 1992 vacated because of horrible sportsmanship, is there any way that qualifies them for a play in game, or something? I just hate to see them squander their suckingness.

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

The way I'm writing results, they could factor in.

As for results, in typical BFB fashion, they'll be up when they're up.

the communication of the Futile Four is appalling. couldn't throw away phones be purchased and given to the trainers of each team so they could call in results? of course there might be differences for the score of the same game. but the committee could add the two different scores together divide by 2 and reward the game to ... uh ... to the team that's trainer came closest to the final number. this method means actual games wouldn't have to be played. the trainers can just guess how they think their team would have done. does away with travel problems, food issues, renting rinks, transportation. no one goes to these games anyway. even fans who might want to go can't find the arenas. I hate to see this proud college hockey legacy stop just because of pigeons.

The committee caps incidental expenses at $25 per team, per trip, so no.
